The Performance Video Editor is responsible for turning raw footage into high-performing, conversion-driven creative across paid social and short-form platforms.
This is not a cinematic storytelling role. It is a growth-critical editing role where pacing, hooks, retention, and iteration matter more than polish for polish’s sake.
You will edit UGC, talking heads, product demos, AI-generated content, and campaign creatives with one goal: drive measurable performance while maintaining brand integrity.
We’re looking for someone who understands that editing is strategy, not just software.
What You’ll OwnPerformance Editing- Edit short-form paid ads for Meta, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms
- Build high-retention hooks in the first 3 seconds
- Optimize pacing, rhythm, and visual pattern interrupts
- Tailor edits to specific campaign objectives (acquisition, retargeting, education, AI-native creative, etc.)
- Rapidly iterate variations for testing
- Identify winning creative patterns and apply learnings to new edits
- Recreate reference styles and improve them
- Adapt editing style based on:
- ICP
- Product
- Funnel stage
- Platform norms
- Contribute ideas to improve creative briefs
- Maintain strong understanding of Everyday Dose’s brand identity
- Ensure visual cohesion across paid and organic channels
- Balance performance-driven edits with brand trust and tone
- Creatively solve footage or production limitations
- Improve average footage through editing choices
- Work across:
- UGC
- Talking heads
- Product shots
- AI-generated assets
- Mixed-media content
RequirementsTechnical Skills
- Proficient in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve (comfortable switching tools if needed)
- Basic After Effects (text animation, motion graphics, light VFX)
- Basic Photoshop (asset preparation)
- Strong audio fundamentals:
- Music selection
- Sound design & SFX
- Sync & pacing
- Basic mixing
- Able to quickly adapt to new editing tools and workflows
- Understands how editing drives conversion and retention, not just aesthetics
- Strong instinct for hooks, pacing, and audience psychology
- Knows how to identify winning ad patterns and scale them
- Comfortable editing for:
- Direct response
- Performance marketing
- Paid social environments
- Adapts editing approach to campaign objective and audience
- Studies trends, competitors, and evolving creative formats proactively
- Communicates proactively with creative and growth teams
- Quickly interprets creative briefs into executable edits
- Accepts feedback professionally and iterates quickly
- Can clearly explain editing decisions and tradeoffs
- Thrives in a fast-paced testing environment
- 3–7+ years of professional video editing experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing short-form, performance-driven ad creatives
- Proven experience in:
- Paid social
- Direct response
- Performance marketing environments
- Experience working with UGC-heavy creative is highly preferred
- Ads consistently improve retention and performance metrics
- Creative testing velocity increases
- Winning patterns are systematized, not one-offs
- Editing enhances brand trust while driving measurable results
- The creative team becomes faster and more data-informed
- Actively studies platform trends and competitor ads
- Seeks out new techniques and tools independently
