About Solace

Healthcare in the U.S. is fundamentally broken. The system is so complex that 88% of U.S. adults do not have the health literacy necessary to navigate it without help. Solace cuts through the red tape of healthcare by pairing patients with expert advocates and giving them the tools to make better decisions—and get better outcomes.

We're a Series C startup, founded in 2022 and backed by Inspired Capital, Craft Ventures, Torch Capital, Menlo Ventures, Signalfire, and IVP. Our U.S. based team is lean, mission-driven, and growing quickly.

Solace isn't a place to coast. We're here to redefine healthcare—and that demands urgency, precision, and heart. If you're looking to stretch yourself, sharpen your edge, and do the best work of your life alongside a team that cares deeply, you're in the right place. We’re intense, and we like it that way.

About the Role

Most People Ops teams are buried in manual work. Ours won't be. We're building the systems and automations that eliminate that work entirely, and we're looking for someone who wants to be at the center of that.

You'll work directly with our Total Rewards & Infrastructure Lead to identify where the People function is slow, repetitive, or running on spreadsheets — and replace it with something better. That means building automations, evaluating and implementing AI tools, and making sure our systems talk to each other cleanly.

You'll need solid Workday experience to do the job, but this role is really about what you build on top of it. If you're someone who gets excited about workflows, tools, and making processes disappear, this is for you.

What You'll Work On

Compensation Infrastructure

  • Help build and maintain the data infrastructure behind salary bands, job architecture, and leveling frameworks

  • Support compensation modeling and scenario analysis as the company scales

  • Maintain equity administration in Pulley — grants, vesting schedules, terminated employee records — and keep the data clean

  • Support the annual comp review cycle from a systems and data perspective

AI & Automation

  • Identify manual, repetitive workflows across the People function and build the automations that replace them

  • Research, evaluate, and implement AI tools relevant to People Operations and compensation

  • Stay current on what's emerging in the AI and HR tech space and bring a point of view back to the team

  • Partner with our Total Rewards & Infrastructure Lead to build and execute a People AI roadmap

Systems & Data

  • Configure and maintain Workday business processes, security roles, reports, and calculated fields

  • Keep integrations running cleanly between Workday, payroll, Pulley, and Ashby — no manual reconciliation

  • Build the data infrastructure that powers compensation decisions, headcount tracking, and org management

  • Support equity administration in Pulley and assist with the annual comp review cycle from a systems and data angle

What We're Looking For

  • 2–5 years in a People Systems, HRIS, or People Ops role at a fast-moving company

  • Genuine excitement about AI and automation — you follow what's happening, have opinions, and want to build with it

  • Workday experience with real configuration depth — business processes, reports, security roles

  • You figure things out without needing a perfect brief and move fast without breaking everything

  • Comfortable with compensation data and can hold your own in a conversation about comp modeling

  • You communicate clearly and can translate a system problem for someone who doesn't live in the tools

Why This Role

You're joining while the foundation is still being laid. The systems built here over the next year will shape how Solace runs for a long time. You'll have real ownership over meaningful work, close access to leadership, and a team that's genuinely excited about using AI to do People Ops differently. If you want a role where you can grow fast and actually see the impact of what you build, this is a good one.

Applicants must be based in the United States.

We look forward to meeting you.
