About Us

Cyvl is a Boston-based tech startup revolutionizing how civil engineering firms and governments map and manage transportation infrastructure. Our enterprise-grade hardware and software solutions leverage 3D mapping sensors to capture LiDAR, imagery, and GPS data, retrofitted to our customers' vehicles. This data is processed through our AI-powered cloud pipelines to generate actionable geospatial insights that save cities and engineering firms time, money, and resources.

At Cyvl, our mission is to empower governments to build and maintain public infrastructure they’re proud of by accelerating decision-making through our sensors and Infrastructure Intelligence Platform. As a People Operations and Office Intern, you will assist with the daily functions of people and office operations, helping contribute to a productive and welcoming environment for the employees.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, organized, and solutions-oriented intern to support people operations and office management. But this isn't a "just keep things running" internship. Our goal for this role is simple: leave Cyvl's people operations and office functions better than you found them. We want someone who sees a manual process and thinks, "How do I automate this?" Someone who spots friction, proposes a fix, and builds a system that keeps working long after the internship ends.

You'll own real problems from day one and have the autonomy to design and implement solutions that streamline how we operate. The tools, workflows, and improvements you build here will directly make the people ops function more efficient, more scalable, and easier to manage for the long term.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify inefficiencies in people operations and office workflows and propose solutions that automate, simplify, or eliminate manual work

  • Build and implement systems, templates, and tools that improve how the team operates (think: onboarding checklists that run themselves, supply tracking that doesn't require a reminder, documentation that stays current)

  • Assist with company events, hiring processes, and workplace improvement initiatives

  • Contribute to the company's internal website and digital documentation, with an eye toward making information easier to find and maintain

  • Own daily office operations: organizing spaces, maintaining supplies and equipment, and keeping the workplace running smoothly

  • Think strategically about what "good" looks like for a growing startup's people and office operations, and take initiative to get us there

Qualifications Required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Self-starter with initiative, follow-through, and a bias toward action

  • Strategic thinker and problem solver who doesn't just flag issues but proposes and implements solutions

  • Natural instinct to optimize, streamline, and build repeatable processes

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity

  • Positive, flexible, and willing to take on varied tasks

  • Comfortable with light physical work (supplies, tidying, etc.)

Preferred
  • Interest and/or experience in operations, HR, or workplace culture

  • Familiarity with tools like Google Drive, Notion, or similar platforms (tech-savvy candidates especially encouraged)

  • Experience automating or improving a process, even in a school or volunteer setting

  • Exposure to project management, systems design, or process improvement

What You'll Gain
  • The chance to build something lasting: the systems and improvements you create will continue to benefit the team long after your internship

  • Real ownership over people operations and office management projects, not busywork

  • Hands-on experience solving operational challenges at a high-growth startup

  • Exposure to a collaborative, dynamic team building cutting-edge technology

  • Skills in process design, automation, and strategic thinking that translate directly to careers in HR, operations, or business

  • A portfolio of tangible improvements you designed and shipped

If you're a results-driven individual with a passion for solutions, then we want you to apply to join our team. At Cyvl, you'll have the opportunity to work on a team building cutting-edge technology and make a meaningful impact on the world.

At Cyvl, we welcome and celebrate diversity in all its forms. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. Your unique perspective is valued here.
