ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Partnership & Advisory
- Build strong, credible relationships with senior leaders, managers, and employees; serve as a trusted advisor and coach.
- Partner with leadership to design, implement, and sustain people strategies aligned to business objectives, organizational priorities, and core values.
- Hold leaders and teams accountable to company values and expected leadership behaviors.
Talent & Organizational Effectiveness
- Partner with Talent Acquisition Manager on talent initiatives including talent acquisition for critical roles
- Advise on organizational design, workforce planning, restructures, and change management to support business evolution.
- Mentor and coach leaders on people leadership, performance management, succession planning, employee development and disciplinary actions.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Consult with leaders and employees to diagnose root-cause issues, improve work relationships, and drive positive engagement outcomes.
- Provide guidance, investigation, and resolution for employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and equitable application of policies.
Operational Excellence & Data-Driven Decisions
- Analyze people data, trends, and metrics to inform insights, recommendations, and program enhancements.
- Partner across the People & Culture team to drive HR transformation initiatives that improve employee experience, processes, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in and lead cross-functional projects and special initiatives as needed.
Collaboration & Communication
- Participate in recurring leadership and business unit meetings to align on priorities and progress.
- Communicate proactively and effectively across all levels of the organization.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Manage the company handbook and adjacent policies by reviewing and updating semi-annually in collaboration with Legal, external counsel and People & Culture peers
- Oversee document retention practices in collaboration with Legal for People & Culture documents
- Interpret and advise on People & Culture policies and practices.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of HR business partner, talent, or generalist experience.
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
LOCATION
- Strong preference for candidates in Greensboro, North Carolina or the surrounding areas but remote candidates with relevant experience are welcome to apply!
HIRING RANGE DISCLAIMER
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Tanger's total compensation package for employees.
Hiring Range: $78,000 - $120,000 per year
