Your Responsibilities
As a PCB Design Engineer for JD Intelligent Solutions Group located in Fargo, ND , you will design, modify and evaluate Printed Circuit Board (PCB) products for use in rugged environments to meet quality, delivery and cost goals using Computer Aided Design Tools (CAD). You will also:
- Be responsible for placement of components and routing of electronic circuits to create a PCB layout as required by the stakeholder
- Analyze technical requirements written by others to determine direction and then operate in a team environment, to finalize design solutions. Decisions are made within established guidelines, such as Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and reviewed by senior team members.
- Provide input to design solutions and participate in design reviews that include the manufacturers
- Create and maintain the PCB related documentation, including but not limited to fabrication drawings, stack-up diagrams, and related files.
- Support PCB best practices and system knowledge across multiple product teams.
- Support the team in data maintenance, including peer checking components for the part library
- As needed, contribute and lead projects creating and improving both process and tools.
- Other related duties as assigned

What Skills You Need
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Ability to apply engineering principles to the design of PCBs while meeting DFM requirements.
- Ability to technically comprehend testing, manufacturing, quality control, and cost trade-offs of PCB design requirements.
- Ability to perform basic PCB layouts requiring application of standard PCB techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out PCB tasks.
- Ability to technically comprehend microprocessor-based embedded electronic, software, and mechanical packaging designs and requirements.
What Makes You Standout
- Education and/or experience in electronic circuit design
- Experience with PCB layout software, especially Siemens Xpedition and/or PADs Pro
- Experience with switching power supplies and memory routing rules
- Experience with design for Test (DFT)
- Experience with designing to harsh environmental specifications
- Understanding of PCB fabrication, board level assembly practices, and industry standards such as IPC (Association Connecting Electronics Industries)
- Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) - Basic or Advanced through IPC
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technical discipline or equivalent experience
