Role Summary

The Payroll Analyst will be a part of the broader Finance team, reporting to the Payroll Manager and Director, Equity Administration and Payroll. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll process, including regular and off-cycle payrolls, resolving tax notices. The Payroll Analyst will ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and support audits, reconciliations, while delivering high-quality and timely customer service to employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete end-to-end payroll processing, including regular and off-cycle payrolls in accordance with SOX internal controls and company policies
  • Work closely with the payroll and people team to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, terminations, and employee data changes
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide timely issue resolution and service
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and ad hoc reporting to support audits, management requests, and payroll-related projects
  • Assist with year-end and month-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation
  • Maintain payroll documentation and ensure confidentiality and data integrity
  • Assist with and reconcile equity compensation transactions into payroll and perform YTD wage reconciliations
  • Help resolve payroll tax notices by researching discrepancies and coordinating any amendments and responses
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field preferred
  • CPP certification is a plus
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience; public company and/or biotechnology or life sciences industry experience preferred
  • ADP, Workday, or similar payroll system experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Experience researching and resolving payroll tax notices
  • Strong Excel skills, including data review and basic reconciliations
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy

  • Position requires up to 20% travel including mandatory in-person attendance at All Hands meetings typically held twice per year

The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role will be $95,000-$110,000. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
