The Context
The Ecosystem Era has arrived at Phrase. We are moving beyond a traditional localization focus towards a future where our platform serves as the foundational infrastructure for global content generation and multi-lingual experiences. We are looking for a Partnerships Manager for North America to lead the orchestration of a diverse partner ecosystem. This is a high-stakes, revenue-generating role focused on building the connective tissue between our platform, our partners, and our internal sales and account teams.
The MandateYou are the bridge between regional market capture and our global partner strategy. Your success is measured by the scale of the "Ecosystem Multiplier"—leveraging partnerships to drive higher order values and accelerated deal velocity for the North American region.
- Orchestrate a Diverse Ecosystem: Navigate and activate a sophisticated mix of partner archetypes, including Major HoldCo Agencies (e.g., Publicis Groupe), Consultancies and GSIs, Hyperscalers (AWS), SIs, and Tech Vendors (CMS/MarTech).
- Drive Partner Reinvention: Act as a strategic advisor to Language System Integrators as they reinvent themselves as AI-led content partners. You will help them build high-margin service offerings on top of Phrase, creating a continuous pull-through for our Enterprise Sales team.
- Master the AWS Co-Sell Engine: Own the regional AWS relationship. You will navigate the ACE pipeline and Marketplace to align our deals with AWS seller incentives, ensuring Phrase is the preferred platform for their field teams.
- Lead Regional Account Mapping: Work hand-in-hand with AEs, Pre-sales, and Account teams. You will be the primary link to our partners for joint discovery, account planning, and unblocking complex enterprise cycles.
- Build the Playbook: We aren't handing you a manual; you are here to design it. You will define the North American GTM strategy, create the "win-win" Rules of Engagement with Sales, and establish the data-driven attribution models (PSR/PIR) that define regional success.
- Sales Velocity: You are the catalyst that helps our sales teams win bigger and faster. You are measured on partner-sourced and influenced revenue that directly supports the regional quota.
- Ecosystem-First Play: Successfully move Phrase from a localization tool to the primary infrastructure in our partners' global tech stacks and service models.
- Strategic Autonomy: You identify the gaps in the North American market and build the tactical partnerships required to fill them, ensuring our Sales team has the "unfair advantage" in every deal.
- Commercial Leader Mindset: 6-10+ years in B2B SaaS partnerships or Enterprise sales environment. You view partnerships as a revenue-generating engine and have the track record to prove it.
- Sales Ally: You understand the internal and external mechanics of co-selling. You earn trust by being a "deal-opener" and "deal-closer" who knows how to leverage a partner’s technical and political capital to help an AE hit their target. You can “see the whole chess board” and help others do the same.
- Ecosystem-Fluent: You understand the "P&L of the partner." You know how to align a partner’s desire for service margins with our need for platform adoption and enterprise growth.
- High-Agency: You thrive in ambiguity. You would rather architect a new regional strategy from scratch than follow a pre-existing checklist.
- Domain Expert (nice to have): You understand the evolution from localization to global experiences and can speak with authority to CMOs, VP’s of Localisation, CRO’s at Partners and AE’s alike.
