About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and seasoned business development leader to join our Strategic Alliances Partnerships team and focus on assessing, optimizing, overseeing, and coordinating integrated partnerships that require heavy cross-functional collaboration across the Instacart ecosystem.
In this role, you’ll develop impactful partnership strategies, negotiate groundbreaking deals, and serve as a strategic relationship manager, responsible for the success and growth of your partner portfolio. You’ll be a trusted partner and internal resource across Instacart, working closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, Strategy, and Finance to align internal and external stakeholders to unlock growth and execute partnership initiatives. You will be responsible for both operational oversight and ensure that your partnerships are driving measurable results. Your leadership and expertise will contribute directly to Instacart’s growth.

About The Job
- Design, evaluate, pursue, and scale new first-of-a-kind partnerships with various industry players
- Develop partnership strategies that include multiple impactful and interrelated workstreams across multiple Instacart business areas.
- Own a portfolio of partners end-to-end, including delivering on core partnership objectives, operational oversight, escalation management, and identifying new opportunities.
- Own the relationship with partners and maintain senior executive-level contacts.
- Drive internal and external business reviews with partners to ensure the delivery of high impact results.
- Play a key role as a strategic business thought partner to initiative leads, product/engineering teams, and other cross-functional organizations, helping them define and refine dynamic product goals. This includes XFN coordination and tracking across initiatives, ensuring awareness across SME Leads, and providing partners with a single point of contact.
About You
We’re looking for a bold thinker, deal-maker and skilled relationship manager who can quickly build credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of business development or partnerships experience in tech, media or related industries.
- Entrepreneurial acumen; a leader who thrives in tackling and solving first-of-kind problems that do not have a template or playbook yet.
- Comfortable jumping into new strategic areas for Instacart, where we are taking products from 0 to 1.
- Experience in ramping up on a new area quickly and effectively to help inform the strategic direction of the project.
- Experience leading product partnerships or corporate development for a product area.
- Track record in managing complex partners at senior executive levels.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic acumen.
- Demonstrated hands-on execution abilities.
- Passion for technology, retail, food, and/or grocery.

- Loves fast-paced environments.
- Curious and willing to go above and beyond.
- Thrives in ambiguity and can chart a course with limited direction.
- MBA degree preferred but not required.
Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here.
