About Bloomy

Bloomy is an AI-native academic system for K-12 schools, providing curriculum, AI teaching, and assessment. We help schools deliver personalized instruction in core academic subjects, identifying what each student needs and helping them master it.

Backed by Y Combinator, Reach Capital, Robinhood Ventures, and many more, Bloomy is growing rapidly, with early school partners and promising initial results for student learning. Founded by Alex Southmayd, a former teacher and Teach For America alum, Bloomy is built around the needs of students and educators across the country.

The role

We’re hiring our first Partnerships Account Executive to grow Bloomy’s district partnerships. This is a quota-carrying, new-business sales role: you’ll generate opportunities and own the sales cycle from first outreach through signed agreement.

You’ll work directly with the founder, who leads sales strategy and will work alongside you on important opportunities. You’ll coordinate with our Partnerships Account Manager to transition new partners into implementation.

In-person relationship building is central to this role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting out into districts, understanding educators’ priorities, and helping decision-makers move from initial interest to a successful purchase. Most of your pipeline will come from your own prospecting, relationships, and follow-through.

What you’ll do

  • Build your pipeline. Identify promising districts and generate opportunities through targeted email and phone outreach, referrals, conferences, and relationships with education leaders.
  • Build relationships in the field. Proactively arrange district and school visits, meet academic leaders and decision-makers in person, and develop a strong presence at regional education events.
  • Lead discovery and demos. Understand each district’s instructional priorities, current tools, and needs. Demonstrate how Bloomy could support its students and educators.
  • Guide districts through the purchasing process. Identify decision-makers and internal champions, understand budget timing and funding, and coordinate evaluations, pilots, proposals, procurement requirements, and approvals. Keep opportunities moving with clear next steps.
  • Deliver against sales goals. Build a qualified pipeline, close new district partnerships, and maintain accurate opportunity records and forecasts in our CRM.
  • Coordinate a strong handoff. Transition new partners to our Partnerships Account Manager, ensuring their goals, commitments, and implementation needs are clearly documented.
  • Improve execution alongside the founder. Put our sales strategy into practice, share what you’re learning, and help refine messaging and approaches as we grow.
  • Bring customer insight back to the team. Share what you hear about instructional needs, product gaps, and reasons districts buy or decide against buying.

What we’re looking for

You have experience winning new business with K-12 districts and can explain how you personally sourced, developed, and closed those opportunities. You understand how to connect an instructional need with the people, budget, and purchasing process required to address it.

You should also bring:

  • A track record of meeting or exceeding new-business sales goals, with clear examples of your contribution.
  • Experience generating your own opportunities and moving them through to close.
  • Strong discovery skills: you ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully, and connect the product to a district’s actual needs.
  • Confidence building relationships with curriculum and instruction leaders, chief academic officers, superintendents, principals, and other district stakeholders.
  • Clear writing, consistent follow-through, and disciplined pipeline management.
  • Comfort working with an evolving sales process. You bring structure, test new approaches, and turn what works into repeatable habits.
  • Sound judgment about what to promise customers and when to involve the founder.
  • Interest in education and a willingness to learn Bloomy deeply enough to demonstrate it confidently.

Experience selling instructional software, assessments, intervention tools, or AI products to districts is especially relevant. Classroom experience and experience at an early-stage company are also advantages.

Location and travel

Location is flexible. Expect approximately 30–50% travel for district meetings, school visits, and education conferences. Travel will vary with territory needs and the school calendar.

Compensation

$200,000–$210,000 in annual on-target earnings ($100,000–$105,000 base salary + $100,000–$105,000 target commission), plus equity.

OTE reflects earnings at 100% quota attainment. Commissions are uncapped, and business travel expenses are reimbursed.

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $100,000 – $105,000 per year.
