What you’ll do

AlixPartners commits to our people’s growth, development, and career progression. As part of the Partnership Matters Office (PMO), we operate with a high degree of autonomy to manage initiatives that span corporate functions and global offices. In this dynamic role on AlixPartners’ Partnership Matters team, you will serve as a key contributor responsible for owning and advancing critical lanes of operational processes and strategic initiatives.

This role goes beyond executional support and requires the ability to analyze situations, exercise independent judgment, and proactively recommend and implement solutions in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will play a key role in firmwide annual processes related to hiring, promotions, compensation, and performance reviews, including identifying process improvements, resolving issues, and ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes across stakeholders. In addition, you will independently manage ad hoc requests involving data analysis, document review, and synthesis of information to support leadership decision-making.

You will also support global equity and partnership-related programs, taking responsibility for interpreting guidelines, applying judgment to unique situations, and determining appropriate paths forward in alignment with firm policies and objectives. Success in this role requires anticipating needs, identifying risks, and taking initiative to address them independently, with escalation as appropriate and accompanied by recommended solutions.

  • Evaluate and enhance internal processes and systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Independently assess current-state workflows, develop recommendations, and lead implementation of improvements (e.g., offboarding protocols, retirement resources, data dashboards).
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for incoming requests, exercising sound judgment to triage, prioritize, and resolve competing demands, and escalating selectively with clear recommendations and proposed paths forward.
  • Analyze data and synthesize insights to inform decision-making, including identifying trends, inconsistencies, and areas requiring action.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned. This role description is intended to outline key functions and is not an exhaustive list of duties or expectations.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset and the ability to anticipate needs across both large-scale initiatives and day-to-day tasks.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational skills with experience operating in time-sensitive, ambiguous environments, balancing competing priorities.
  • Client-focused and collaborative with the ability to influence across teams, functions, and seniority levels, including partnering effectively with senior leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and executive-ready messaging.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Teams, and Word; advanced proficiency with Excel or demonstrated ability to quickly build that capability.
  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
  • Must become familiar with, and promote and abide by, our Core Values as defined by the AlixPartners’ Code of Conduct and foster an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization.

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
