Horace Mann is looking for a dynamic and relationship-driven strategic Partnership Manager to lead the full lifecycle of Horace Mann’s education partnerships — from sourcing and onboarding through renewals and growth.

This role is ideal for a professional who thrives at the intersection of relationship management, marketing strategy, and execution excellence. You’ll serve as the primary liaison between state associations, education leaders, and Horace Mann’s internal teams, ensuring every partnership drives measurable impact, enhances our educator reach, and strengthens our brand as a trusted ally in education.

If you’re passionate about creating meaningful partnerships, leading through collaboration, and delivering results that make a difference for educators nationwide, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary executive liaison for education association partners, providing proactive and professional communication that builds trust at the C-suite and state executive levels.
  • Translate partnership agreements into clear, actionable, and innovative marketing execution plans that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Compliance, Events, and Field teams to integrate partnerships into campaigns, communications, and educator-focused initiatives.
  • Lead quarterly partnership performance reviews and develop campaign performance reports (across email, digital, and social channels).
  • Manage renewals and strategic renegotiations of partnership agreements, securing marketing rights, sponsorship opportunities, and value-added educator benefits.
  • Develop and maintain executive-ready partnership materials — including playbooks, marketing calendars, and benefit summaries — to ensure alignment and visibility across the organization.
  • Identify and champion growth opportunities, such as regional and national events, that enhance partnership impact and brand engagement.
  • Track, analyze, and report ROI and marketing performance for all partnerships, using data-driven insights to inform ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

  • H.S Diploma or GED equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • 3–4 years of experience in partnerships, account management, sponsorships, or client services preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in marketing and campaign execution, with strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships at senior and executive levels.
  • Experience working collaboratively across teams such as Marketing, Compliance, Field, and Events.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to measure, report, and act on performance data.
  • Normal office environment.
  • Periodic travel may be required.

At Horace Mann, we’re driven by a mission to support the education community — helping educators protect what they have today and prepare for a successful tomorrow.

As a Strategic Partnerships Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of our partnerships, elevate our brand presence across the education sector, and drive initiatives that make a meaningful impact on those who make a difference every day.

You’ll join a team that values creativity, collaboration, and results — where your strategic thinking and relationship expertise will help strengthen Horace Mann’s position as the trusted, strategic collaborator in education.

Pay Range:

  • $71,500.00 - $105,400.00/annually.

Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.

Horace Mann was founded in 1945 by two Springfield, Illinois, teachers who saw a need for quality, affordable auto insurance for teachers. Since then, we’ve broadened our mission to helping all educators protect what they have today and prepare for a successful tomorrow.  And with our broadened mission has come corporate growth:  We serve more than 4,100 school districts nationwide, we’re publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange (symbol: HMN) and we have more than $12 billion in assets.

We’re motivated by the fact that educators take care of our children’s future, and we believe they deserve someone to look after theirs.  We help educators identify their financial goals and develop plans to achieve them.  This includes insurance to protect what they have today and financial products to help them prepare for their future. Our tailored offerings include special rates and benefits for educators.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
