Overnight Psychiatrist

Schedule: 12 hour shifts available, 2-3 evenings per week

Compensation: dependent on experience and contract type

Location: telehealth - FL license (required), additional TX, MO, KS, LA or Interstate Medical License (preferred)


Responsibilities:

  • Psychiatrist must hold an active Florida (FL) medical license. An additional TX, MO, KS, LA license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility is preferred.
  • The psychiatrist will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to diagnose mental health disorders in an acute care setting.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications ensuring that treatment plans are effective and adjusted as needed
  • The psychiatrist will create individualized treatment plans that include medication management, psychotherapy, and other interventions. 
  • Chart audits, peer review, meetings, provider management, etc.
  • The psychiatrist will maintain up to date medical records, ensuring compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and standards of care.
  • Maintain and monitor confidentiality of patients and their files; audit files to determine that all services provided are documented; review status of patients to verify that all treatment and therapeutic programs are completed.
  • The psychiatrist will work closely with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and staff to provide integrated and coordinated care.
  • Provide immediate psychiatric care in crisis situations, such as suicide attempts or acute psychiatric episodes, and work to prevent incidents through proactive mental health management
  • Endeavor to comply with the requirements of applicable regulations, laws, rules, procedures, policies, standards and/or contract.

Qualifications:

  • Psychiatrist must hold an active Florida (FL) medical license. An additional TX, MO, KS, LA license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility is preferred.
  • 2 years of inpatient experience (trauma experience required)
  • Board Certified or Eligible (within 1 year of residency completion) in Psychiatry   
  • Valid and unrestricted DEA 
  • Must be proficient in using Telemedicine technologies to treat patients remotely
  • Open to PMHNP collaboration (preferred)
