We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented OTDR Tester to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise testing and analysis of fiber optic cables using Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR). Your expertise will ensure the integrity and performance of fiber optic networks, supporting our commitment to delivering reliable communication solutions. Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive OTDR testing on fiber optic cables to identify faults, splices, bends, and other anomalies.
  • Interpret technical schematics and blueprints related to fiber optic installations and maintenance.
  • Utilize hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and soldering equipment for assembly and repair tasks.
  • Perform quality control and assurance inspections using ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing (RT), penetrant testing techniques, and steel magnetic particle inspection (MPI).
  • Collect and analyze data from tests to assess network performance and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed records of test results, inspection reports, and equipment calibration logs in compliance with ASME codes & standards.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols during all testing procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with non-destructive testing methods including ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing (RT), penetrant testing, magnetic particle inspection (MPI), and X-ray inspection techniques.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics accurately.
  • Familiarity with surface mount technology (SMT), manufacturing processes, and quality inspection standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data collection, reporting, and documentation purposes.
  • Knowledge of engineering testing procedures specific to aircraft non-destructive testing is a plus.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics effectively.
  • Skilled in using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, soldering irons, and other assembly equipment.
  • Ability to follow strict safety protocols while performing equipment testing in accordance with industry standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude combined with strong attention to detail ensures precise inspections and reliable results.
