CIC’s mission is to improve the world by helping exceptional entrepreneurs innovate better and faster. We pride ourselves on displaying a high degree of care and accuracy in everything that we do, and we work to ensure that our clients thrive every day that they are in our space. We believe that our ability to support world-changing entrepreneurs is only as good as the people who make up our teams, and as such we are looking for people who are interested in contributing to--and improving--the way we work. We invite you to explore all our openings here and learn more about us here.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are very much a part of the innovation community we support, and our work continues to grow at the local, national, and international level. The person will be part of a team that is selling a product and service with a growing world class reputation, and which almost sells itself.

We are looking for someone with a unique combination of skills and style to support both the other members of the CIC team, as well as prospective companies through email and in person interactions. If you are an articulate, ethical individual who thinks critically, understands the nuances of effective communication, and is interested in a career path in business development this might be the perfect fit. If you like to work hard, but have fun while doing it, you’ll definitely enjoy the work culture at CIC!

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:

● Able to own and manage multiple tasks and be able to get the details right.

● A willingness to perform an array of administrative tasks coupled with an ability to play “backup” to the responsibilities of more senior members of the team.

● A balanced and comfortable presence around all people. A good candidate will have a proven record of professional success, but will have also begun to understand some of the hard lessons only challenging situations or failure can teach.

● Able to work independently while communicating effectively with team members and clients alike.

● Able to ask for help when faced with uncertain situations.

● Personable, happy to help others, and naturally drawn to a very busy, ever evolving environment.

● Flexible. Invigorated by a dynamic environment, able to pivot between multiple priorities, and can rise to the challenge meeting changing expectations.

● A commitment to work that they consider “mission” based. They will see their work as an opportunity to make a powerful contribution to a larger effort.

● Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.

GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

● Provide general support to a team by helping to address daily inbound inquiries from prospective clients via email, phone, or in person inquiries., as well as scheduling tours with prospective clients and informational tour groups.

● Manage a client portfolio of approximately ~20-40 companies. Provide oversight to assist clients in getting the most out of their experience at CIC. For example, as a client’s business evolves, so too does their need for office space, and you will be responsible for helping them find the right solution.

● Assist with the daily administrative tasks such as tracking details related to client contracts and monitoring and updating insurance requirements.

● Provide support to CIC’s operations teams when situations arise that do not require direct Relationship Manager decision making or advisement. Overall, you will be a resource for building relationships within the community and a partner for resolving complex situations with other staff members and clients alike.

● Serve as a member of the CIC Sales Team and work with prospective clients to determine if CIC is the right place for them to start their business.

Lead tours for prospective clients and informational groups, such as students or visiting delegations.

● Provide administrative and sales support to expansion site teams, specifically in the site's first year.
