The Operations Specialist supports key functions within Investment Operations, with a focus on portfolio reconciliation and corporate actions processing. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of client account data while partnering across teams to resolve discrepancies and support ongoing operational initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support for advisory, private wealth, and institutional accounts.
  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliations using automated systems to ensure accounts and positions are accurate and in proof.
  • Research and resolve cash, transaction, and position discrepancies between internal systems and custodians.
  • Conduct daily data validation checks; investigate and resolve data integrity issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor corporate actions dashboards and related data sources to ensure timely and accurate processing of events.
  • Coordinate with portfolio managers and traders to execute corporate action elections.
  • Partner with trading to manage security-level trade restrictions as needed.
  • Process transactions in core accounting systems to support client account activity.
  • Communicate with custodians to confirm proper booking of corporate actions.
  • Ensure corporate action events are accurately reflected in client accounts and reconcile appropriately.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Trading, Portfolio Management, Client Service, Technology) to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in investment operations, accounting, or financial services; familiarity with equities and fixed income securities is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; comfort learning new systems and tools
  • Familiarity with SQL, Gresham Control for IM, and Eagle Investment Systems a plus
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and resolve discrepancies
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement

This role is based in our Boston office on a hybrid schedule - 4 days per week in-office, 1 day per week remote. 

The actual base salary is dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, GW&K employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus and/or commission, which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.

Base Salary Range

$60,000-$65,000 USD
