Job  Summary

Formlabs is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead teams and own space for manufacturing services, including scaled additive manufacturing operations, equipment refurbishment, pre-production builds, and validation campaigns. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of safety and quality, and delivering strategic business goals. The Operations Manager will oversee key aspects of site management, including production, personnel development, financial performance, and cross-functional collaboration, with a strong focus on continuous improvement. This position is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within the dynamic and growing field of 3D printing.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage an hourly labor pool and support functions, including oversight, resource planning, hiring, training, and skills development. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and accountability.
  • Oversee all aspects of production/operational processes, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to schedules, and high-quality output
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational metrics and prepare leadership reports
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective corrective and preventative actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant frameworks
  • Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of facilities and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior production/manufacturing role.
  • Experience in managing a direct hourly workforce
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes & principles, such as 5S, lean, material flow, safety, quality management, etc.
  • Experience in establishing and managing refurbishment programs is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop employees across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.  
  • Proven ability to align and implement business strategies effectively across multiple departments.
  • Demonstrated success in driving cultural transformation and organizational change.
  • Familiarity with safety systems such as OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) or equivalent.
  • Experience with 3D printers
