We're a fast-moving, collaborative team driven by a shared commitment to educator impact and product excellence. Our values—urgency, ownership, and focus—shape how we build and who we are.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Contract Operations Coordinator at Brisk Teaching, you'll play a key role in keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly across finance, people, talent, and internal ops. You'll work hands-on across a broad range of recurring operational workflows—from accounts receivable and accounts payable to employee onboarding and office management—partnering closely with our Head of Operations and cross-functional stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to support a fast-growing, mission-driven edtech company where your work directly enables financial rigor, employee experience, and team productivity at scale.

YOU WILL:

Finance operations

  • Own accounts receivable end-to-end, including billing, collections, and reconciliation.

  • Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing and vendor payments.

  • Serve as liaison to our bookkeeper.

  • Administer our expense platform, including expense program enforcement, policy compliance, and user management.

People operations, HR administration, and talent acquisition

  • Coordinate the employee onboarding program.

  • Administer HRIS, including data entry, system updates, employee records maintenance, and HR compliance forms.

  • Schedule candidates for manager screens and virtual onsites.

Internal operations & vendor management

  • Manage physical mail and office operations for our SF and NYC spaces.

  • Maintain the company knowledge base and Slack workspace.

Flex capacity

  • Provide surge support during operational spikes (office moves, system migrations, audit prep).

  • Take on ad hoc projects as they emerge across the ops function.

YOU HAVE:
  • Exceptional attention to detail—you catch the billing discrepancy, the missed onboarding step, the expired COI before anyone else does.

  • Strong ability to context-switch and multi-task across parallel workstreams without dropping threads, and comfort holding many small open loops at once.

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in operations, ideally spanning finance ops, people ops, talent ops, and/or general internal ops.

  • Availability to work 25–35 hours per week for ~3 months (contract may be extended longer depending on need).

  • Flexibility to maintain regular availability during overlapping U.S. business hours (approximately 10am–3pm PT).

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize against ambiguous or shifting inputs, and handle confidential information (employee and financial data) with discretion.

BONUS:
  • Hands-on experience with finance operations workflows, including AR/AP, expense management, and coordinating with external bookkeepers or accounting firms.

  • Familiarity with HRIS/PEO administration (TriNet, Rippling, Justworks, or similar), including payroll audits, employee records, and leave administration.

  • Experience at a Series A/B-stage startup during a period of rapid headcount growth.

Equal Employment Opportunity & Diversity

At Brisk, we believe that diverse perspectives make better teams and stronger products. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.
