Role Overview:
We’re looking for a Sales & Service Analytics Intern this fall to support our team in driving impactful analysis, dashboarding, and automation efforts. This role will collaborate closely with analysts and stakeholders to deliver actionable insights, streamline reporting, and ensure data accuracy. Strong skills in SQL (preferably Google BigQuery) are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with analytics tasks across the team, including dashboard development and maintenance
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support business questions and stakeholder needs
  • Write and optimize queries in Google BigQuery (GBQ) or similar SQL-based environments
  • Leverage AI tools where appropriate to improve speed and efficiency of analysis
  • Support automation efforts through query development and data structuring

Primary Projects:

  • Revamp the Specialized WBR (weekly business review): Build structured, automated data pipelines and dashboards to support business reviews
  • Proactive Monitoring Infrastructure: Develop alerting mechanisms to flag data issues or refresh failures in key tables and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and reporting reliability

What You’ll Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current Sophomore, Junior or Senior student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (eg. analytics, supply chain, business operations) with a 3.0 GPA minimum
  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by Wayfair now or in the future. Visa sponsorship includes the following work visas: STEM OPT EAD, H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, O-1, J-1, or TN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong skills in SQL (preferably Google BigQuery)
  • Strong business acumen: ability to understand how various parts of the business interact; can identify and approach problems from a customer or supplier perspective 
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills: excited about working with and synthesizing big data into actionable insights; comfortable using data software to conduct analyses and synthesize findings 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to summarize and share results with key stakeholders
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
