As a senior member of the OCIO Team, the Relationship Manager is responsible for leading client service delivery for Brown Advisory’s OCIO clients. The Relationship Manager will report to the Head of Endowments and Foundations Business and will have primary responsibility for serving clients while optimizing the client experience. The successful candidate must be an organized and diligent professional, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. This role will be based in Boston, Baltimore or Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead Relationship Manager for OCIO clients, providing direct service and support

  • Serve as liaison between client team, custodians, and client boards, committees, and staff to deliver the highest level of client experience

  • Supervise and delegate routine and ad hoc client support tasks to ensure timely execution

  • Manage quarterly meetings including agenda preparation, internally and externally

  • Oversee all account maintenance activities (client onboarding, transactional execution and oversight, and recurring client deliverables, etc.)

  • Coordinate with external auditors and advisors on specific client requests

  • Lead the enhancement of client service internally and externally in a client-first environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, JD or CPA, preferred but not required

  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ of experience serving an institutional investor client base, or working in an endowment or foundation investment/finance office

  • Demonstrated experience working with institutional governance structures, including familiarity working with boards, committees and staff

  • Ability to convey a consultative approach to client relationship management and business development

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Process-driven and solution-oriented mindset with a strong understanding of workflows and process improvements

  • Collaborative team-player; self-motivated with a strong work ethic

  • Demonstrates tact, discretion and good judgement in handling sensitive and confidential information

  • Must be willing to travel

  • Ability to work in Washington D.C., Boston or Baltimore office location

MD Salary: $125-$160K. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long-term incentive eligibility (if applicable).

DC/MA Salary: $137-$176K. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long-term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
