Position Summary

Brown Advisory is seeking a proactive, resourceful, and versatile individual to serve as an Portfolio Analyst (PA) for Brown Advisory’s Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) team. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual who is able to help drive change and solve complex challenges by utilizing data and their analytical capabilities. Specific functional expectations are to help support ongoing client reporting needs, ensure accurate and timely portfolio updates, maintain proprietary databases to support investment decision making, among other responsibilities. The role will be dynamic and day-to-day responsibilities will evolve commensurate with experience, interests, and client needs.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports for our OCIO relationships

  • Produce custom analytics for reporting on a regular or ad-hoc basis

  • Develop, communicate, and/or expound on reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders

  • Troubleshoot any reporting or operational process errors; develop close working relationships across teams to help propose and implement solutions

  • Manage projects to create or improve reporting content and/or advance strategic business goals

  • Analyze and interpret relevant investment data, including portfolio positions, transactions, and performance

  • Support clients through their various events (i.e. an audit) and ensure accurate information is provided to 3rd party vendors

  • Build rapport across the firm’s operational teams and collaborate to solve challenges

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or related subject 

  • 2-5 years of investment or reporting experience

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Curiosity of capital markets and an intention to pursue Chartered Financial Analyst designation

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong work ethic

  • Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple workstreams

  • Flexibility and the willingness to adapt to rapidly changing priorities

  • Professional maturity, keen judgement, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Strong Microsoft Excel (VBA is a plus) and PowerPoint skills

  • Knowledge of FactSet/Tableau/Advent/Bloomberg is an advantage

  • Ability to work in an office location

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization (e.g., H-1B , O-1, F-1 (OPT), TN, or any other non-immigrant visa classifications that require employer support or sponsorship).

Salary: $75-$100k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
