About The Position |
The News and Deals Writer will join the Amazon vertical within the Transaction team and will create shopping content for several People Inc. brands, namely InStyle. They will focus on deals and compelling products in fashion and beauty. This role requires someone who is passionate about writing, shopping, finding great deals, and can produce multiple articles per day, creating content that inspires People Inc.’s large audiences to make informed purchases. Writers must be based in the U.S. and be comfortable working near the NYC office.
Your day-to-day:
Pitch and write multiple timely, deal- and news-oriented shopping articles daily that generate strong affiliate revenue
Use data and analytics to brainstorm and guide content decisions
Collaborate closely with writers and editors on the Transaction team and across People Inc.
Keep up with all things related to Amazon, including new product launches and sales
Build own content within CMS
Research, reach out to, and interview experts to provide background information and quotes as needed
Attend and participate in weekly meetings
Prepare content for major shopping events, like Prime Day and Black Friday
You are:
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that works across multiple different brands
A strong, fast writer well-versed in Amazon.com; experience writing commerce content is a plus
Familiar with SEO best practices and have experience creating SEO-driven content
Familiar with the People Inc. portfolio, and able to adapt to numerous brand voices and writing styles
Experienced with digital media tools such as CMS (WordPress) and Google Analytics
Comfortable working with data and analytics, and conducting keyword research
Able to write compelling headlines that drive high engagement/page views
Excellent at communicating with others
Ideally, you have 2+ years related experience
This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements
Education:
College degree or equivalent experience required
Experience:
2 years writing experience at an online publisher, ideally in the beauty or fashion space
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that works across multiple different brands

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $64,350.00 - $72,000.00The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
