About us

New Product Operations team focuses on the processes and activities needed to successfully launch and scale new products. Our goals is to ensure that the operational aspects of introducing a new product to the market are seamless, efficient, and aligned with the company’s overall strategy.

About the role

Accountable for end-to-end operational management of a portfolio of New Product Development projects for Global Supply Chain (GSC), you will act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams and ensure delivery to Dyson’s standards for time, cost, quality, and governance. You will translate business and technical requirements into actionable supply chain and manufacturing strategies, maintain high visibility with stakeholders, and provide clear, accurate reporting throughout the product life-cycle, ultimately transferring ownership of a stable, healthy project to the outsourced operations team.

Cross-functional Leadership & Alignment

  • Serve as the principal liaison between GSC and the Business Unit, Commercial, RDD, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure seamless alignment and communication.

  • Lead as the primary GSC representative on the Project Leadership Team (PLT) coordinating procurement, manufacturing engineering, tooling, supply chain, aftersales, commercial operations, and contract manufacturer relationships across the entire portfolio.

  • Guide and mentor your team of operations project leads/managers and cross-functional teams across geographies; set aligned SMART objectives, identify skill gaps, and provide clear expectations for successful delivery.

  • Work in close collaboration and alignment with the Head of Category in RDD, ideally at the relevant location, to ensure portfolio priorities, expectations, and project deliverables are fully understood and consistently met.

Portfolio Planning, Execution & Governance

  • Define, align, and deliver the execution strategy for the full lifecycle of a portfolio of new product development and/or lifecycle projects, from inception to post-launch, across GSC functions and awarded suppliers.

  • Champion consistency and rigor in New Product Operations (NPO) planning for all projects, challenging unrealistic schedules and presenting optimal solutions.

  • Ensure all projects in the portfolio comply fully with Dyson’s product creation framework and governance processes.

  • Prepare and deliver inputs for key business reviews, including Operations Phase Review (OPR), Project Milestone, GSC Delivery and GSC Launch Reviews, and the Product Delivery Meeting (PDM) and Product Launch Meeting (PLM).

  • Translate commercial and RDD commitments into actionable, integrated supply chain plans.

Operational Delivery & Project Management

  • Manage BU, PDM & PLM requests, coordinating with appropriate GSC teams and providing accurate, timely inputs for weekly and monthly reviews.

  • Ensure new project ramp planning is aligned across CAPEX capacity investment, market demand, and launch timing to guarantee OTIF pipe fill volumes.

  • Manage CAPEX budgets for all portfolio projects, driving investment to the most efficient level and ensuring variances are escalated appropriately.

  • Collaborate with Network Strategy and Outsource Procurement to optimise supplier selection, platforming, and DDU performance.

  • Manage and report on contract manufacturer (CM) performance for NPD and LX projects, ensuring quality and timely execution.

  • Ensure all active projects are triaged by GSC functions to assess resource needs and escalate any gaps between demand and commitment.

  • Hold themselves and the team to account, being clear on any failings and what is required to recover.

Reporting, Risk Management & Best Practice

  • Manage the preparation of project status reporting to enable portfolio health reports at agreed cadence and in weekly GSC BU portfolio reviews.

  • Identify and escalate portfolio risks through agreed channels, ensuring leadership direction is clearly communicated and that all outputs meet exceptional standards driven by effective risk and issue management.

  • Champion rigorous, standardised best practices and data-driven analysis across the portfolio, proactively adopting new processes, formats, and data sources, and collaborating with governance teams to ensure feasibility, clear and accurate reporting, and effective phase transitions.

About you

We are seeking a motivated and strategic operations professional with experience in project delivery and management, ideally in a global supply chain environment. You are a self-starter who thrives on challenge, demonstrates strong influencing and communication skills, and excels at building trusted networks across functions—including suppliers, Research, Design & Development (RDD), and operational teams. Comfortable with accountability for project outcomes, you consistently seek improvement opportunities, applying robust project management skills alongside clear and accurate communication. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to stretch themselves and drive the success of Dyson’s New Product Development (NPD).

Benefits

Dyson monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and bonuses. Beyond that, you’ll enjoy a transport allowance and comprehensive medical care and insurance. But financial benefits are just the start of a Dyson career. Professional growth, leadership development and new opportunities abound, driven by regular reviews and dynamic workshops. And with a vibrant culture, the latest devices and a relaxed dress code reflecting our engineering spirit, it’s an exciting team environment geared to fuelling and realising ambition.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
