JOB SUMMARY
The Access Operations team is responsible for the planning, deployment, activation and support of hardware, software and compute platforms associated with the edge access network, including iCMTS, R-OLT, vCMTS and associated CIN network architecture devices. The Network Engineer IV will be part of the Sustaining Engineering team responsible for the integration of new technologies including DAA R-PHY and working as a team lead to ensure the accurate deployment, activation, and support surrounding all planning, hardware, and software lifecycle requirements for the access network. As a member of the team, you will work to ensure a reliable customer experience while working on enhancements to the network while following corporate standards. You will be sought after for recommendations for improvement and lead in staff development efforts.
WHAT OUR NETWORK ENGINEER IV'S ENJOY MOST• Responsible for the implementation of approved network architecture.• Integrating architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.• Supporting the deployment and activation of access network hardware and software across the network.• Supporting troubleshooting efforts related to optical and radio frequency customer-impacting outages and impairments.• Working on one or more projects as a team leader.• Acting as a level of escalation for junior level Network Engineers.• Knowing, understanding and following company policy.• Proactively and consistently supporting all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience while acting as an example to junior level Network Engineers.• Performing other duties as requested by Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum six (6) years of Network Enginering experience.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and / or equivalent work experience.
- Technical skills: Minimum four (4) years operating Ethernet, IP, Optical, RF and/or DWDM-based optical network architectures/designs that are customer-facing. Minimum three (3) years Routing Protocol experience - BGP, IS-IS, MPLS. Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking. Advanced knowledge of Optical Transport networks. Advanced knowledge of compute, storage and virtual appliances.
- Skills: Accomplished written and verbal communication skills. Advanced knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Abilities: Ability to use personal computer and software applications. Ability to work as a lead in a team environment. Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel Ability: This position is eligible for our Hybrid Work Policy. Eligible employees can work from home up to one day each week.
- Work Schedule: Must be able to work the following schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM and on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Education: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Juniper Network Certified Specialist (JNCIS or JNCIP). CableLabs / SCTE Certification. Vendor Specific Certifications and/or Training (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Nokia).
WORKING CONDITIONS
- 24x7 Network Operations environment. Depending on business group, on-call work may be an essential function of the job.
- May work in Network Lab environment.
- Occasional travel as required.
