About The Role:
As a Network Capacity Planner II, Reporting to the Director, Capacity Planning, you will play a critical role in ensuring our global datacenter network infrastructure is optimized for scalability and efficiency. You will be responsible for partnering with Network Engineering teams to forecast and plan network capacity to support the rapid growth of our cloud infrastructure. This role requires a technical understanding of network design topologies and capacity planning.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain capacity models for network infrastructure across backbone, metro, data center, and edge networks.
- Partner with network engineering and architecture teams to ensure alignment of physical infrastructure with logical network architecture designs.
- Forecast hardware and optical component requirements (e.g., switches, routers, optics, transceivers) to support supply planning and procurement cycles.
- Forecast bandwidth, port, and optical transport capacity needs based on customer growth, product expansion, and usage patterns.
- Analyze network utilization trends and identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies to inform optimization opportunities.
- Perform scenario and what-if analysis to support decisions on network expansions and build-outs.
- Collaborate with datacenter, compute, and GPU planning teams to ensure holistic infrastructure capacity alignment.
- Support supply chain teams by providing forward-looking requirements and lead time visibility.
- Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards to monitor network capacity
- Help build requirements to support planning tools, data pipelines, and automation to improve forecasting and visibility.
Who You Are:
- 5–7 years of experience in network capacity planning, network engineering, or infrastructure planning roles.
- Understanding of IP networking, optical transport systems, and data center interconnect architectures.
- Familiarity with routers, switches, and associated metrics (e.g. bandwidth, utilization, port density).
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Looker, or Tableau.
- Strong analytical, modeling, and forecasting skills to make data-driven recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across infrastructure, engineering, and business teams.
- Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment where priorities evolve quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with network monitoring, inventory management, or capacity tools (e.g., Kentik, NetBox, Grafana) is a plus.

The base salary range for this role is $98,000 to $130,000. The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program (all based on eligibility).

Our Workplace
While we prioritize a hybrid work environment, remote work may be considered for candidates located more than 30 miles from an office, based on role requirements for specialized skill sets.
