The National Vaccine Contracting Director will coordinate with national accounts to execute contract strategies, manage relationships, optimize business plans, and ensure revenue growth in Pfizer’s U.S. Vaccines Business Unit, while collaborating with various teams to deliver compliant solutions and enhance patient experience.
ROLE SUMMARY
The National Vaccine Contracting Director (NVCD) will serve as the primary interface with the National Account Team for customers to include, but not limited to, national integrated delivery networks (IDNs), national and regional payers, physician buying groups (PBGs), group purchasing organizations (GPOs) and specialty accounts (VaxCare, Dialysis, Kaiser) for the U.S. Vaccines Business Unit. The NVCD will work closely with the NADs and be the primary contact for executing contract strategy for all national account customers. The NVCD will work with the IDN and PBG strategy teams to develop and present contract offers, monitor contract performance, communicate pricing changes and contract analytics. If appropriate, the NVCD will prepare and present the Market Comparison Tool (MCT) to national IDNs and PBG organizations. The NVCD will also work closely with the iVCM team/Senior Director to review opportunities at the PBG member level and with the NAD set individual PBG goals. The NVCD will coordinate with the GPO NAD to deliver contract updates, engage GPO aggregators (VPN, CAPTIS, Excelerate, etc.) and conduct monthly reviews using the dashboard/QBR.
The NVCD will be responsible for preparing and presenting to governance committees and the Meets the Competition (MTC) committee when appropriate.
The role requires strong contracting knowledge across various segments. An in-depth understanding of US payer landscape, buy and bill product experience, well developed negotiation skills, and understanding of pricing & contracting in the context of complex organizations. The role will report to the Senior Director, Team Lead - Vaccine Contract Managers.
The National Vaccine Contract Director will work collaboratively with brand and customer marketing, USMA, field teams, legal, finance and trade to enable commercial efforts. The colleague will work in collaboration with the integrated account team to develop implementation plans for specific contracts and communicate learnings across the Vaccine Account Management/National Account Director organizations to increase effectiveness. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience required, or Master's degree and 9+ years of experience, or Ph.D./PharmD and 7+ years of experience required.
• Ability to travel >50% of the time
• Demonstrated ability to successfully engage executive/administrative level personnel at large accounts
• Successful history of leading a complex stakeholder matrix (internal and external)
• Ability to deliver complex pricing/value messages to organized provider accounts in a fully compliant fashion
• Demonstrated financial/business acumen, strategic thinking, leading without authority and project management
• Demonstrated strong problem-solving and comfort managing complex issues/obstacles
• Experience using data and all available information to prioritize business opportunities
