Job Summary

The Motion Graphics Designer is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to develop design solutions that align with business objectives and SHI’s brand and marketing goals. This role involves conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes to enhance user experiences, and producing engaging, high-quality motion graphics and video content that showcase SHI’s products, services, and corporate culture to both internal and external audiences. The Motion Graphics Designer utilizes creative problem-solving skills to address UX challenges, communicates design concepts to developers, and stays informed on industry trends to deliver innovative solutions. Additionally, the Motion Graphics Designer will manage project milestones, ensure quality through feedback and iteration, and partner with teams to create compelling and engaging learning materials and experiences.

Role Description

  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute motion graphics projects—including corporate promotional videos, product demos, event coverage, explainer videos, and social media content—that align with SHI’s brand and business objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with Video Team members, developers, sales, marketing, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure design solutions and motion graphics reflect SHI’s brand voice and production standards.

  • Conduct competitive analysis, user research, and usability testing to gather insights that inform engaging and effective motion graphics content.

  • Design and develop wireframes, prototypes, and key visual assets to support motion graphics and video production, ensuring alignment with customer needs and project goals.

  • Contribute to all aspects of the motion graphics process, including concept development, animation, editing, and post-production enhancements.

  • Create and iterate on user personas and storyboards to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of visual storytelling in motion graphics projects.

  • Utilize creative problem-solving skills to address challenges in user experience, usability, and visual communication.

  • Communicate motion graphics concepts and prototypes effectively to developers, team members, and stakeholders for feedback and approval.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging techniques, and new technologies to deliver innovative and high-quality motion graphics content.

  • Design, maintain, and organize graphic assets to ensure consistency with SHI’s brand and facilitate easy sharing and reuse across projects.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to create and deliver engaging learning materials, training videos, and other multimedia experiences.

  • Set project milestones, manage multiple motion graphics projects, and provide regular updates on progress, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to deadlines.

  • Review and refine completed motion graphics and video projects based on feedback, evolving needs, and quality standards.

  • Travel to various locations as needed for on-site video shoots, event coverage, or client meetings.

Skill Level Requirements

  • Proven experience as a motion designer and video editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing motion graphics and editing skills.

  • Solid understanding of graphic design principles, typography, color palettes, visual aesthetics, and web accessibility standards.

  • Proficiency in motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D) and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro), as well as creative design tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

  • Ability to translate complex concepts into visually appealing and easy-to-understand motion graphics and digital assets.

  • Ability to oversee and direct projects to completion, ensuring goals are met, resources are utilized efficiently, and stakeholders are satisfied.

  • Experience in creating learning content using various authoring, animation, and design tools.

  • Knowledge of fundamental instructional design theories and models, such as ADDIE and SAM.

  • Ability to systematically identify, document, and manage the technical needs and specifications of a project by engaging with stakeholders and analyzing business objectives to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Experience in using HTML and CSS for web design and development tasks.

Other Requirements
• Completed Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience required
5+ years professional experience in motion graphics, animation or a related field showcasing a portfolio of dynamic and high-quality animations, explainer videos, promotional campaigns and social media  

The base salary range for this position is $66,000 – $90,000. The estimated on-target earnings, or OTE, which includes a base salary and bonus/commissions, are $70,000 - $95,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
