About the Role

  • We’re looking for a Motion Designer who’s as comfortable crafting beautiful layouts as they are making them move. As part of our small but ambitious Brand & Media team, you’ll play a hands-on role in extending our social reach, elevating our content offerings, and bringing editorial stories to life through motion. This role is about more than just pushing pixels—you’ll be shaping how audiences experience our brand across platforms. From concept to final render, you’ll design, animate, and edit assets that are visually compelling, on-brand, and made to resonate with a global audience.
  • The ideal candidate is a visual storyteller who thrives on independence and experimentation, blending design, motion graphics, and video editing to create content that both inspires and informs.

What You'll Do

  • Design compelling visuals and bring them to life through motion.
  • Create GIFs, videos, templates for web, social, and other digital platforms.
  • Produce detailed visualizations and motion assets to support marketing and promotional initiatives.
  • Transform complex data into clear, engaging motion graphics that enhance storytelling.
  • Help build and maintain a robust motion library to empower editors and the media team.
  • Uphold and evolve the brand identity, ensuring all creative output aligns with guidelines while identifying opportunities to refine and elevate the visual style.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teammates to translate strategic objectives into impactful creative solutions.
  • Incorporate feedback professionally, balancing creative vision with business needs to deliver polished, high-quality results.
  • Manage multiple projects independently, setting and meeting deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and design standards.
  • Stay current on design trends and tools, exploring new techniques and technologies to improve creative output and workflow efficiency.
  • Tackle unexpected challenges and projects with creativity and adaptability.

What You’ll Bring

  • We’re looking for someone who has:
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field, or equivalent professional experience.A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in design, motion, typography, and layout.
  • Proficiency in After Effects, plus working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Experience with storyboarding, visual design principles, and animation/rendering.
  • Strong design sensibility with excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bonus if you have:
  • Experience working in a global or distributed team
  • Experience working at a fast-paced startup
  • Experience with Cinema4D
  • Familiarity with motion design for digital products (UX/UI, micro-interactions, etc.)

  • After 3 months in this role, you will have:
  • Collaborated seamlessly with Brand&Design team
  • Established an efficient production process
  • Contributed fresh creative ideas
  • Demonstrated deep familiarity with our brand voice and visual identity

Work location & Authorization

The Block does not sponsor US work authorizations for this job position including H-1B, O-1, and TN. The Block also does not hire F-1’s working on EAD for this position.
Candidates must have the legal right to work in the country where they reside or where this role is based without sponsorship.
