The Mobile Crisis Clinician provides emergency psychiatric services to youth and families, coordinating care and treatments, and conducting evaluations while collaborating with other service providers.
North Suffolk's Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) - Emergency Services Program is looking for a Mobile Crisis Clinician to join our Team! The Mobile Crisis Clinician provides direct emergency psychiatric clinical services to youth and their families and coordination/consultation to other care providers also involved, in collaboration with other emergency services staff. The Mobile Crisis Clinician provides prescreening evaluations for information and communicates ongoing needs of youth and families back to the emergency services team to coordinate and execute follow-up.
This is a mobile position, with the expectation of some on-site shifts and on-site response.
The commute to work must be able to be easily completed within an hour, even during rush hour traffic.
This position is currently offering a $5,000 language differential for bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese speakers.
What you'll do:
- Provide support, coordination of disposition planning and treatment service for the duration of the MCI episode of care according to clinical need.
- Fulfill aspects of YMCI (Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention) ESP specifications, which require in-home crisis intervention with youth and families.
- Coordinate follow up with other staff members of the Emergency Services Program to insure needs of youth and family are met to reduce crisis.
- Provide direct mobile and on site psychiatric clinical services in coordination with other community service providers.
- Evaluate clients in terms of setting and treatment plan which includes evaluation and developing a treatment plan.
- Identify needs and strengths; assist in planning, implementing and evaluating necessary care of individuals, children and families in conjunction with community resources.
- Asses crisis or emergency situations and intervene immediately with appropriate treatment for clients.
- Prepare written/computer cases recording documents, within prescribed time limits.
What you’ll need:
- Education/Skills:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology or other relevant Medicaid reimbursable clinical specialty required.
- Valid independent clinical license (LICSW/LMHC) preferred
- Spanish/Brazilian Portuguese language required. Additional language differential for program-needed language skills.
- Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year in a psychiatric emergency service or similar setting required.
- Must have access to a car and possess a valid driver's license.
