Job DescriptionBryceTech is seeking a proactive and mission-driven Mid-Level Planner to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) within the Planning and Exercise Division (PED). This role supports the development of national preparedness policies, plans, and exercises that enhance the nation’s capability to respond to and recover from disasters. The work location is flexible and may be at any of FEMA's 10 regional offices located in Boston, MA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Denton, TX; Kansas City, MO; Denver, CO; Oakland, CA; or Bothell, WA.
As a Mid-Level Planner, you will contribute to planning initiatives, help coordinate interagency exercises, and support strategic analysis to strengthen emergency management efforts across federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial levels.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of emergency and contingency plans.
Support the design and execution of exercises, including planning meetings, documentation, and after-action reporting.
Conduct research and analysis to inform planning efforts, policy updates, and doctrine development.
Facilitate stakeholder engagement and interagency coordination efforts.
Assist in the preparation of briefings, reports, and planning artifacts for senior leadership.
Apply national preparedness frameworks such as the National Response Framework (NRF), National Incident Management System (NIMS), and Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG) 101.
- Possess emergency management experience, including knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS). Shall have recognized training or instructional design experience and/or education in business, urban, military, and emergency management operations or planning.
- Must have applied knowledge within their relevant region (if applicable) and expertise in the subject matter of the planning or exercise initiative.
- Possess at least four years of emergency management experience and a solid understanding of emergency management principles, including the Six-Step Planning Process, military planning system or comparable formal planning system and exercise programs.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or above.
