About the role
We're hiring a micro/nano-electronic device engineer with strong background in electronic device physics and expertise in micro-nano fabrication skills. You will be involved in developing electronic devices for wireless brain stimulation. You should have an interest in biomedical implants, though no prior experience is needed in biotech. Strong grasp in electronic devices (diode, transistors, MEMS, band diagrams etc), semiconductor engineering and CMOS technology is a MUST. Experience in micro/nano-fabrication is a MUST.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):
Design and develop new nanoelectronic devices for biomedical applications
Perform simulations to optimize the device
Perform micro- and nano- fabrication to make electronic devices using cleanroom facilities and perform device characterization
Explore applications of these devices for biomedical implants with collaborators
Qualifications and Skills:
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
3+ years experience in micro-nano fabrication techniques in cleanroom
3+ years experience in Photolithography, Liftoff and Spin Coating
3+ years experience in thin film deposition techniques such as Sputtering, Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) etc
3+ years experience in dry etching techniques such as Reactive Ion Etching (RIE), Ion Beam Etching (IBE), Plasma Etching as well as wet etching techniques.
3+ years experience in characterization techniques such as IV-Curve Measurement, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and other electrical and material characterizations
Strong background in solid state physics, device physics, electronic devices (diodes/transistors/band diagrams) and bandgap engineering
Bachelors or M.S or PhD in electrical/electronic engineering, physics, materials science, bio/mechanical/chemical engineering or relevant field
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience with Glovebox
Experience in electronic device simulations (TCAD; COMSOL Multiphysics; Device Modelling)
