About the Opportunity: We are a leading mortgage servicing SaaS company, specializing in innovative financial technology solutions. We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Assistant Controller to contribute to our accounting department's success.
Your day-to-day at Sagent:
Leadership and Management:- Achieve organizational goals by effectively leading, coaching, and managing the accounting team.
- Conduct performance appraisals, pay reviews, and provide training and development opportunities for team members.
- Apply operational and strategic management skills to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes.
- Assess, establish, and maintain procedures and processes for all areas of accounting.
- Oversee and manage various accounting functions, including, but not limited to software capitalization, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Maintain, review, and track billing details within financial systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.
- Document and oversee internal controls across the Accounting Organization.
- Interpret records and reports for managers and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations.
- Gather and analyze financial information and help manage the monthly closing process.
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to stakeholders, as necessary.
- Work on Ad-Hoc projects as assigned.
- Responsible for research on technical accounting matters as these arise.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or relevant discipline with 4 - 6 years of experience in a related field, including at least 2 years in a leadership role within a SaaS or financial technology company. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- CPA Required
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Public Accounting Experience (Big 4) preferred
- Experience with Microsoft D365 is a plus
- Proven ability to achieve goals through the work of others, with a focus on managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong operational and strategic management skills.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
