Primary Purpose
The Merchandising Optimization Analyst at Ahold Delhaize USA is responsible for analysis , testing and implementation of innovative merchandising approaches that enhance customer engagement, commercial performance, and operational efficiency across our digital platforms (website, applications, etc.) , including our Great Local Brand storefronts (Digital and In Store) and 3rd Party Marketplace Platforms (example: Instacart, DoorDash) .
This role focuses on both the digital merchandising analytics tactics and the day-to-day insights into optimization initiatives, ensuring that our digital storefront continuously evolves to meet and exceed customer expectation.
The Merchandising Optimization Analyst will partner in the execution of our optimization roadmap and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including CPG Partners, Product, Analytics, and Fulfillment.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC , Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, and Hyattsville, MD.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Duties Responsibilities
  • Analyzes and provides insights to testing, piloting, and implementation of new merchandising strategies and tactics that drive customer engagement, commercial performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyzes the A/B testing roadmap for merchandising initiatives and CPG innovation, ensuring that all tests are rigorously designed, executed, and analyzed for actionable insights.
  • Partners with teams to share insights and best practices
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Digital Campaigns, Category Site Merchandising, AD Retail Media, Product, Web Analytics, Merchandising Intelligence, and Category Management, to pilot and roll out new merchandising initiatives.
  • Monitors and analyzes site performance, onsite availability, and fill rate metrics, using data-driven insights to make strategic recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Partners with site merchandising team and AD Retail Media to analyze, execute, and support top CPG partners across digital platforms.
  • Plans and analyzes the merchandising activities on third party marketplace platforms, such as Instacart, working to grow our market share on the platforms.
  • Supports continuous improvement by providing insights and recommendations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • 5+ years of experience in site merchandising, e-commerce, category management, or digital marketing.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working and influencing cross-functional partners.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Tools (PowerBI, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to clearly communicate data analysis findings to various levels within Digital Merchandising

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with digital merchandising tools and platforms, such as Bloomreach or Sitecore.
  • Knowledge of SEO, personalization strategies, and advanced analytics.

ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $75,040 - $112,560
IL/MA/MD/NY Salary Range: $86,320 - $129,480
Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final compensation decisions will be made in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
