You will own category performance, strategic projects, and on-boarding of vendor partners, including negotiating business terms and assortment strategy. We will work in a team environment, working closely with leading Equestrian brands and companies. To be successful they will be an authoritative horse person with a background in Western riding, preferably with competition experience. They will also have excellent verbal & written communication skills, strong attention to detail, absorb information & experiences quickly and apply findings, and analyze & communicate sophisticated problems to internal and external partners. The successful candidate will be flexible, creative, persuasive, analytical, solution-oriented, and able to drive negotiations through to completion. What You'll Do:
- Improve product category sales by supporting key functions such as category promotions, the on-boarding of new vendors and brands, site experience improvements, and consumer shows
- Lead strategic projects and develop process improvements to improve efficiency and performance of the team
- Integrate analysis and business instincts into a cohesive category strategy and/or project road map
- Conduct research, collect and process economic and statistical data, supervise economic trends, analyze data, and develop forecasts for our online business
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, private label, finance, catalog and product teams
What You'll Need:
- Direct experience with equestrian and or western rider experience.
- Completion of a BS/BA degree
- Interest and or related internship experience in related Merchandising, Buying, or Analytical field.
- 1+ years in ecommerce, buying, account management, product management, category management, consulting, analytics, finance or marketing
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills with Excel; SQL knowledge desired.
- This position may require travel

- Experience leading multiple projects - prioritization, planning and task delegation
