POSITION/TITLE:                              Marketing/Membership Assistant

ROLE TYPE:                                         Part Time, non-exempt

WORK WEEK/HOURS:                        Morning and Evening Shifts

                                                                  20-25 Hours per Week

REPORTS TO:                                     Marketing Membership Manager

As one of the oldest non-profit community organizations in the area, the YWCA Greater Newburyport has been providing safe, affordable, and supportive childcare and youth development, housing, and wellness opportunities.

 

About the Role

Join our dynamic team at the YWCA Greater Newburyport and make a difference in our community! As a Marketing Membership team member, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in recruiting and retaining members for our wellness, aquatics, child care, and school age child care programs. You will serve as the primary point of contact for potential members, introducing them to all of the programs and services we offer. Working closely with our Marketing Membership Manager, you will have the opportunity to design and implement strategies that will help us reach even more members of the community. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact and help us continue to serve our mission of empowering women and their families. We can't wait to see what you can accomplish in this role!

 

What you will do:

Customer Service

  • Promote the values and mission of the YWCA in all interactions with children, parents, and staff.
  • Welcome and assist guests with impeccable service upon their arrival and departure
  • Maintain professional, pleasant appearance and overall clean work environment at all times
  • Acquire knowledge of all YWCA products, services and programs
  • Serve as an informational resource to potential and current members on all YWCA membership and program options
  • Answer incoming calls in a timely manner, and make outgoing calls as needed
  • Resolve or refer all member problems and concerns
  • Efficiently document member questions, concerns or suggestions, and ensure follow-up in a timely and professional manner
  • Sale of all YWCA products including merchandise
  • General office duties as requested by the senior leadership team

 


Membership

  • Manage all aspects of enrollment process for membership, wellness plans, swim lessons, session based programs, afterschool, and all other YWCA programs.
  • Maintain information accurately in the database

 

Marketing

  • Serve as representative for YWCA and our programs at various events
  • Distribute marketing materials
  • Assist with fundraising events

Fiscal

  • Follow our fiscal policies and procedures
  • Maintain an accurate cash draw
  • Close out the cash draw at the end of each shift
  • Process all transactions in a timely and accurate manner

 

Who you are:

  • You have 2 years of previous customer service or direct sales experience
  • You have computer experience and knowledge of databases, MS Word, MS Excel
  • CPR and First Aid preferred and required within 3 months of employment
