Who We Are:

Hyperbolic Labs is on a mission to democratize AI by breaking down the barriers to computing power with our Open-Access AI Cloud. By making better use of idle computing resources across the globe, we offer an innovative GPU marketplace and AI inference service that promise affordability and accessibility for all. As pioneers at the intersection of AI and open-source technology, we believe in an open future where AI innovation is limited only by imagination, not by access to resources. We're looking for forward-thinking individuals who share our passion for making AI universally accessible, secure, and affordable. Join us in building a platform that empowers innovators everywhere to turn their visionary AI projects into reality.

As we prepare for growth with our seed round, backed by industry leaders, our team—led by co-founders with PhDs in AI, Math, and Computer Science—is poised to redefine computing.

About The Role:

As a Fullstack Engineer at Hyperbolic Labs, you’ll work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to build end-to-end applications that power our AI cloud platform. You’ll contribute to everything from infrastructure and backend services to frontend interfaces, helping us deliver a seamless user experience for our GPU marketplace and inference tools.

This role requires the candidate to reside in the United States. Team members are expected to work in-person in the San Francisco Bay Area at least 75% of the time.

Who You Are:

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have a passion for crafting engaging and responsive applications.

  • Are comfortable navigating both backend and frontend systems, and excited by the opportunity to work across the stack.

  • Have strong software engineering skills and a proven track record of delivering scalable, well-architected systems.

  • Are proficient in Python and TypeScript.

  • Are thoughtful about UX and building clean, performant web interfaces.

  • Are self-directed and enjoy taking ownership of features end-to-end.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with backend infrastructure, databases, and pub/sub architectures.

  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).

  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, or interest in building AI developer tools.

Hyperbolic is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
