The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) serves as the primary point of contact for healthcare professionals, managing medical communications, strategic plans, and compliance. They provide medical insights to internal stakeholders and maintain high scientific standards.
ROLE SUMMARY
The MSL role family comprises a variety of medical scientific specialties, such as but not limited to, BU medical managers/leads, Field Based Medical, Ext. partnerships lead, etc. In all cases, the MSL is the medical scientific companies' POC for HCPs, medical societies, regulators, academia, and other ext. scientific stakeholders.
The MSL are responsible for maintaining the highest scientific standards, independence and compliance in every medical/scientific external activity, as well as in scope internal processes.
RESPONSABILITIES - Core components
• Lead medical to medical communications in the field
• Scientific expert for HCPs, med. Societies, academia, etc.
• Plans and executes medical scientific strategic plans, as per their specialty role
• Medical Stakeholders Management
• Provide medical input to the BUs and contribute to company's plans through actionable customers' medical insights
• Aligns, supports and contributes to different internal stakeholders.
• Is a key contributor to ensure company's medical compliance
REQUIRED SKILL SET
Capabilities & Qualifications
• Depending on the specific specialization of the role, certain elements are crucial:
• For BU / xBU dedicated medical roles, the priority will be providing expertise and support to oncology area.
• For non-BU dedicated roles, i.e., ext. partnerships, launch excellence, etc., activities will be prioritized to serve specific ext. medical stakeholders with the highest scientific standards.
• Medical degree, preferable with specialty in clinical areas and/or research/or epidemiology
• At least 3-5 years of experience in medical/scientific activities including research, clinical development, epidemiological surveillance.
• Experience in manuscript compilation & journal publication process.
• Strategic, analytical, self-awareness, and interpersonal skills
• Have a history of outstanding communications skills, as well as demonstrated teamwork, leadership ability and accountability.
• Continuous improvement and innovation oriented
• Travel availability between >50%
