COMPANY OVERVIEW

At Salt Media, we're on a mission to earn the world's attention. As the media division of Salt XC, we're building a different kind of agency where media, commerce, creative, data and technology work as a single connected team. Our people combine strategic thinking with AI-powered tools, automation and advanced analytics to help some of North America's most recognized brands solve complex business challenges and drive measurable growth. We move quickly, challenge convention, and believe the best ideas come from curious people who are empowered to experiment. If you're looking to do career-defining work alongside smart, ambitious teammates in an environment that's shaping the future of media, we'd love to meet you.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As an Account Manager at Salt Media, you’ll take day-to-day ownership of client accounts or campaign workstreams, keeping delivery on track while building trusted relationships with client contacts. You’ll work closely with an Account Supervisor or Director to execute against the account strategy, translating plans into clear, well-managed execution.

You’ll manage the moving pieces of a campaign or account — timelines, budgets, vendor coordination, and status reporting — while flagging risks early and keeping internal and client stakeholders informed. You’ll also start to build your own point of view on the account, contributing ideas for organic growth and supporting the planning behind key client moments like QBRs.

You’re organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams at once. You communicate clearly, take ownership of your work, and are eager to grow your account management craft — building the judgment and client presence that will carry you toward an Account Supervisor role.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Project & Operational Management

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of assigned accounts or campaign workstreams, keeping timelines, budgets, and deliverables on track.
  • Maintain accurate status documents, trackers, and contact reports, ensuring clear and timely updates come out of every internal and client meeting.
  • Coordinate across creative, media, and integrated partners to keep workstreams aligned and moving on schedule.
  • Identify recurring process gaps and recommend improvements to team tools, templates, and ways of working.
  • Flag risks and roadblocks to your Account Supervisor or Director before they impact delivery.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Recommend and independently select vendors for defined categories (e.g., staffing, promotional items) based on project scope, budget, and fit.
  • Draft clear, detailed vendor briefs and statements of work that outline deliverables, timelines, and expectations.
  • Support vendor onboarding and day-to-day communication, ensuring timely approvals, feedback, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor vendor delivery against agreed SOWs and flag discrepancies to senior team members.

Financial Acumen

  • Manage budgets and cost tracking for assigned accounts or workstreams, flagging scope creep or budget risk as it arises.
  • Draft scopes and estimates in partnership with your Account Supervisor or Director, incorporating vendor quotes and internal resourcing needs.
  • Process and reconcile vendor invoices and personal expenses accurately and on time, following a 3-quote process where required.
  • Support forecasting and financial reporting for your accounts, ensuring documentation is accurate and client-ready.

Client Growth

  • Build strong day-to-day relationships with client contacts, serving as a responsive and reliable point of contact.
  • Understand client priorities and business objectives at a macro level, and flag opportunities to your Account Supervisor or Director.
  • Contribute to organic growth ideas, proposals, and account plans alongside your team.
  • Support the planning and delivery of client engagement moments, such as QBRs, lunch-and-learns, and thought leadership sessions.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 3–5 years of experience in account management or a client-facing role within a media or integrated agency.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing day-to-day account or project workstreams, including timelines, budgets, and status reporting.
  • Working knowledge of vendor briefing, SOW documentation, and budget tracking.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and shifting priorities.
  • Clear, confident communicator, comfortable presenting updates in client and internal meetings.
  • Collaborative team player who partners effectively across creative, media, and integrated teams.
  • Proficiency with standard office and project management tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, or agency project management platforms).

PERKS & BENEFITS THAT SET US APART

We don’t just talk about balance, growth, and culture, we build for it:

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
