Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer (Associate, Mid or Senior Level) to join our 787 Mechanical Systems Design Engineering team in North Charleston, South Carolina.
The Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer will support the development and documentation of mechanical, fluid, and environmental control system components/assemblies for the 787 Program. Those selected will align with our software and controls engineering team within the 787 ECS (Environment Control Systems) Sustaining - Functional and Equipment SOW.

Summary Pay Range Senior Level (Level 4): $115,000 - $156,000

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate Level (Level 2); Mid-Level (Level 3) or Senior Level (Level 4) Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer (Associate, Mid or Senior Level).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining mechanical systems detail, product detail, assembly, and installation designs (e.g., composite ducting, hydraulic tubing, transport element routing and geometry).
- Assisting with engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, and shop revision requests).
- Follow documented processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of mechanical, fluid, and environmental control system commodities.
- Collecting data to support the development of statements of work.
- Reviewing functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture.
- Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems.
- Supporting the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers.
- Perform spatial integration at system or component level.
- Assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Works under general supervision.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 2+ years of experience working in an engineering discipline application
- 2+ years of experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 4: 8+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of demonstrated project management skills
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace related role
- 5+ years of experience working in CATIA V5 & ENOVIA toolsets
- 5+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, procedures, and specifications
- 5+ years of experience in a mechanical system, hydraulic fluid system, and/or environmental controls systems engineering roles
