Mechanical Design Engineer

Fameccanica North America is growing its Boston Hub and hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to help design custom automation systems. This is a high-impact role for an engineer who enjoys turning concepts into practical, production-ready equipment.

What You’ll Do

  • Design mechanical systems for custom automation equipment
  • Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials
  • Partner with controls, electrical, manufacturing, and project teams
  • Support design reviews, problem-solving, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Help move designs from concept through build, test, and deployment

What You Bring

  • 5 to 10 years of mechanical design experience in automation or custom machinery
  • Strong CAD skills, ideally in SolidWorks or Solid Edge
  • Experience creating assemblies, drawings, and production-ready documentation
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and solve design challenges efficiently
  • Hands-on, practical mindset with strong attention to detail

Additional Details
