Job Summary & Responsibilities

The MDC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the overall operation and production of the facility in the absence of the Managers. The Supervisor will oversee all functions such as purchasing, product planning, and delivery logistics. The Supervisor will ensure that the facility maintains a high level of both service and product quality while managing cost of goods and labor percentages. The Supervisor should have the ability to run a facility that meets company metrics and problem-solve issues that do not meet company standards. The Supervisor will maintain a safe and comfortable work environment for all staff and oversee training and development of employees when necessary.

 

The Supervisor must possess strong communication and writing skills and be proficient in MS Office programs such as Excel and Word, with overall strong computer skills. The candidate should have knowledge of delivery logistics and last mile delivery scenarios, with the ability to create reports to track facility metrics and analyze data for process improvements and controls. Candidate must have a High School Diploma or Associate’s degree and must be able to work a flexible schedule including all major holidays and peak seasons.

Candidate must be agile enough to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Must have the ability to work in hot and cold temperatures for extended periods, stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs. Candidate must wear closed-toe, rubber-soled footwear at all times and be able to fill the duties of personnel within the facility if needed due to staffing shortages. Candidate must also be able to receive deliveries as needed.

 

The Supervisor is required to complete accurate inventory counts monthly and conduct a codified inventory weekly. The Supervisor is responsible for ordering all flowers and hardgoods for the facility while maintaining company standards and meeting or exceeding budgeted percentages. The Supervisor is also responsible for overseeing the Fruit Kitchen, ensuring proper staffing levels, and verifying that incoming product meets company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure company standards and metric compliance
  • Purchase fresh goods and hardgoods for the MDC location as needed
  • Manage production to ensure Designers and Drivers perform to company expectations
  • Send weekly and monthly reports to MDC Manager
  • Dispatch drivers as needed to ensure all orders are delivered within the required timeframe
  • Make decisions regarding ordering of supplies and flowers for the MDC location
  • Manage staff and ensure all work is completed according to company standards
  • Oversee all warehouse staff, including Designers, Drivers, and Operations
Preferred Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Bilingual ability is a plus
  • Good math skills
  • Ability to give and follow directions to complete tasks
  • 3–5 years of production/warehouse experience
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work long hours during peak periods, including holidays
  • Ability to travel if needed

The expected hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
