MBA Summer Associate Intern, Congress Operations
Congress Operations is a team within the Medical Operations department in Medical Affairs. The Congress Operations Team is responsible for leading the congress planning process across Vertex (Vertex attendees, activities, training and logistics, etc) to ensure there is an integrated plan for the congress and Vertex can meet our company goals at these meetings.

We are seeking a strategic and innovative leader to play a critical role in the transformation of our Congress Operations processes. Offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of our operating model as we scale to support a growing number of congresses across multiple therapeutic areas.
The department is currently revamping our core business processes and evolving them to adapt to our growing number of disease area congresses to enable quality, effectiveness, and efficiency. This will include the introduction of new systems and ways of working and this role will support the development, implementation and measurement of these optimized processes and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current congress planning workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support the design and implementation of optimized processes, including documentation, training materials, and change management strategies.
Assist in evaluating and introducing new systems and tools to enhance planning efficiency and data tracking.
Develop metrics and dashboards to measure the impact of congress activities and operational improvements.
Conduct stakeholder interviews and synthesize insights to inform process redesign.
Communicate and visualize the output of analyses, including both written and verbal communication, to business leaders and non-technical audiences
Understand and transform business needs/strategy into features or model
Bring an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and ethical mindset to your everyday work
Create senior leader quality presentations on the application of data science to your project
Participate in discovery interviews, project status meetings and project presentations with business partners and intern program leads
Qualifications
Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited two-year full-time MBA program with a healthcare, strategy, operations, or related field
Four to six years of work experience prior to starting their MBA program
Experience within the pharmaceutical or health-sciences industries is preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with process improvement or change management is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across functions.
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution.
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel

Pay Range:
$55 - $55Disclosure Statement:
The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
