SUMMARY:

The Master Planner will have responsibility of capacity planning for all internal manufacturing and external manufacturing for Godiva. The Master Planner will work with several individuals and functions, including Global Demand & Supply Planning, Production Scheduling, Marketing, Manufacturing, Customer service, Clients, and other Functions as necessary.  

This position will have full responsibility for all mid- and long-term planning requirements for Godiva North America.  The mid- and long-term planning responsibilities include working with the local finite scheduling teams to determine the needs for all intermediate processing (candy manufacturing & WIP packaging work centers) and finished product packaging operations using a fully integrated, closed loop, ERP system. Performing 6 months to 3-year capacity plans for the manufacturing locations & Key Ingredient/Packaging Suppliers. Operational Execution includes delivering fill rate of 98.5%, keeping inventories to acceptable levels to meet service, reduce obsolescence, and working with the plants & suppliers to optimize the schedule to reduce the conversion costs. 
 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:

  • Collaborate with local finite scheduling teams on near-term capacity to create the 4 weeks out production schedule & deliver Case Fill Rate of at least 98.5% while not exceeding inventory targets and utilizing available labor pool.

  • Create and align on a 12-month rolling and 3-year capacity analysis by facility to determine constraints in production capacity, labor requirements, materials need, etc.  Work with Godiva’s global manufacturing facilities to create actions to resolve and escalate concerns to the S&OP process.

  • Responsible for managing the capacity for brands with $600 million in Gross Sales, across a broad range of product categories including Ballotins, Gift Boxes, Truffles, Domes, Master Pieces, Napolitans and more. 

  • Responsible/Accountable for KPIs such as Fill Rates, Capacity Utilization & Attainment, Inventory Plan vs Targets and Production Schedule Adherence.

  • Collaborate with Godiva Global Supply Teams to collate Supply Needs by Region, and then translate to loads on the appropriate Factories and Work Centers to drive monthly Capacity Reviews with Factories and Key Suppliers.

  • Review and advise on feasibility looking across the network to support incremental volumes for Promotions, new distribution, and other Big Events.  

  • Must launch all new Seasonal Collection and new products by ship dates - highlighting to S&OP Leads, Planning Leads, and appropriate x-functional peers when there are risks to timing and/or product availability. Responsible for accurate Product Master Data setups in the system as new SKUs are launched.

  • Validate materials to meet Supply needs for ingredients & packaging over the next 12-18 months and mitigate Demand/Supply imbalances with key Packaging and Ingredient Suppliers.

  • Maintain system integrity to keep the information accurate and dynamic, thus reducing changeovers on the floor, correct material availability, accurate process flow, and accurate capacity planning. 

  • Support both core and seasonal products to ensure that we can balance capacity appropriately to ensure 98.5% fill rates.

  • Collaborate closely with Planners & Schedulers to manage Finished Goods, Ingredient and Packaging inventories to meet service & working capital objectives.

  • Update Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP) report to accurately reflect intended build of finished goods, incorporating S&OP aspects such as pre-building inventory to level load production and achieving Target weeks of Supply.

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of MRP/Material Planning Systems

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Understanding of MRP and Finite Scheduling processes.

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required

  • Minimum of 5 Years of Planning/Scheduling/Forecasting Experience in a Manufacturing environment.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship.

PREFERRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or Economics from an accredited institution required

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in materials planning or procurement in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
