THE ROLE:
We’re looking for…
A Short Term Copywriter, who is charged with bringing the Rue La La and Gilt brand to life through words. This position will help craft a broad range of content, including our engaging Boutique titles, daily push notifications and subject lines, witty Today’s Fix headlines, and dedicated emails.
We anticipate this role will be needed for Q3 and Q4.
What you’ll accomplish…
- With the guidance of the Senior Copywriter, apply Rue voice to original copy for our daily Boutiques and performance-based marketing communications in a highly collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
- Research lead brands, distilling the essence into concise, digestible, authentic copy.
- Keep a pulse on the fashion, home, and travel industries, conveying authority through copy.
- Contribute and concept creative ideas that support and generate excitement around each Boutique to increase visitation.
- Work collaboratively and constructively with other members on the team, including Marketing Managers, Merchants, Art Directors, Designers, Production, and Brand Operations.
- Uphold the Rue voice in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
There’s more…
- Be an integral, contributing part of a tight-knit Creative team.
- Work directly with business partners and directly affect the business.
- Develop copywriting style across multiple media and platforms.
THE RIGHT FIT:
You have…
- The foundational training to understand the basics of advertising writing and grammar and quickly grasp what makes one brand’s voice different from another.
- Desire to learn new things and keep abreast of the worlds of fashion, style, design, retail, and ecommerce.
- 1 – 2+ years of relevant work experience with an agency, in-house creative group, or magazine.
- BA/BS in English, literature, communications, journalism, or a similar field.
- A strong voice. You should be a witty wordsmith who can capture the distinct Rue voice.
- Ability to write copy that is both succinct and joy-filled and that champions our brand voice (or a willingness to learn).
- The ability to juggle multiple projects at once, complete last-minute requests, and make quick turnarounds.
- A solid cover letter and portfolio showing training and potential.
Bonus points for…
- Any experience concepting integrated advertising campaigns.
