Public Relations Manager
OSITION SUMMARY:
This position translates the company's business objectives into strategic media relations. Responsible for executing external Public Relations programs, with the goal of generating positive sentiment for Agero and its product solutions. Subject matter will range from Corporate positioning to product solution awareness to industry/trade relations. This role is fast-paced, demanding and requires the ability to create and edit market-ready content, manage social media, press relations, and provide support to the team on various projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Formulate and execute plans to support a variety of industry-specific public relations campaigns
- Actively manage external PR agency to proactively identify trends and pitch ideas that generate media coverage, executing on Corporate PR plan
- Drive media strategy and develop integrated programs to support product launches, campaigns, events, and thought leadership
- Generate a content calendar for press releases, pitches, social campaigns, and blog articles that support Agero's messaging goals
- Draft a wide range of written materials (press releases, articles, communications plans, executive speaking points, and social media content)
- Manage industry-specific speaking and awards programs, with a focus on driving award and speaking submissions that promote innovation and thought leadership
- Actively manage, monitor and update Corporate social channels
- Identify metrics and measure success of product PR activities
Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in journalism/public relations/communications field or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- 5-7 years of experience required, experience in media relations, spokesperson training, and program execution required, with PR agency experience preferred
- Industry specific knowledge in insurance, or automotive a plus
- Knowledgeable, passionate storyteller who loves to create and define authentic messages for diverse audiences
- Experience conceiving and pitching targeted stories to business and technology media with a track record of well-crafted media relations results
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work concurrently across multiple, diverse projects; skilled at prioritizing workload and deliverables to meet team deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficent writing, editing and content strategy and development expertise, including experience crafting bylines, blog posts, media pitches, video scripts, newsletters, abstracts, executive bios and briefing sheets.
