Product Marketing Manager

The Product Marketing Manager will work closely with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and other functional teams to drive and support all aspects of Go-to-Market (GTM). This team member must be extremely collaborative, building trust quickly and bringing a clear point of view - and the voice of the customer - to the work. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with great people and have a meaningful impact on the lives of striving students and their educators.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across teams to inform product strategy and vision based on an understanding of customer feedback and market needs
- Lead positioning and messaging on product enhancements and launches, and support product amplification needs across the organization
- Develop marketing launch plans and oversee GTM execution
- Ensure that Sales teams are fully prepared to sell to and support educational partners, including development and presentation of sales enablement materials and training. Review materials and optimize at key points throughout the year, considering different state needs when applicable
- Engage with customers and team members to amplify product success stories
Within 1 month, you will:
- Learn about our 3 core products, understand the key value propositions and differentiating characteristics of each, and their respective near term release plans
- Build relationships with key collaborators, laying a foundation for your work together
- Observe customer-facing engagements and presentations and start to understand the voice of the customer
- Start to support the Director of Product Marketing and functional teams as needed
Within 3 months, you will:
- Establish yourself as the lead and go-to person on your respective product(s)
- Start to align with functional team members (Product Management, Customer Success, and Sales) on work and collaboration
- Start to develop positioning and marketing resources to support product adoption and customer satisfaction
- Begin to manage partner and internal stakeholder communications independently
Within 6 months, you will:
- Actively collaborate and lead conversations with Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success in representing the voice of the customer and translating customer feedback into actionable insights, programs, and potential product features
- Be deeply immersed in standing up programs/resources to support product adoption and customer satisfaction
Within 12 months, you will:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the wants and needs of our various user types and how our product is used to improve their lives (district admins, EL specialists, classroom teachers, students)
- Bring a strong Product Marketing point of view and voice of the customer to all next steps in product development and positioning
About you:
- Experience - 5+ years of marketing, product marketing, or product management experience
- Comfortable with Complexity - Experience managing projects in fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders
- Strategic & Customer Focused - you’re in tune with the voice of the customer and always let the goals drive your strategy, activities, and deliverables
- A Team Player - with a Point of View - you collaborate well and have informed, open-minded discourse with colleagues to develop innovative solutions to challenges and opportunities
- Skilled Communicator - you are skilled at synthesizing customer insights and communicating cross-functionally to inform decision-making, you are comfortable presenting in front of a range of audiences
- Open to Feedback - you value constructive feedback and see it as a way to improve yours/your team’s work
A plus if you have:
- 2+ years of experience working with EdTEch and/or SaaS products
- An interest in K12 education policy and/or effective local and state government
