The Upwork Cultural Marketing team is looking for an innovative brand marketer + self-starter who thrives in a collaborative and innovative environment. As the Influencer Marketing Manager, you will primarily support the Senior Culture + Entertainment Brand Manager but partner closely with the social media and other cross-functional marketing teams to support the development, execution, and measurement of our influencer marketing program. Responsibilities will include developing an always-on influencer strategy to support business goals - specifically driving awareness, understanding, and engagement - and working cross-functionally to build influencer activations to support + amplify integrated marketing, product, and social first campaigns.
Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of Upwork's influencer marketing strategy while managing the day-to-day execution of influencer campaigns that will drive brand awareness, consideration, increase engagement, and drive an increased SOV.
  • Lead the influencer marketing campaign execution partnering with the creative team and other cross-functional partners to ensure talent selection, messaging + visual briefs are in line with marketing goals
  • Partner with campaign manager + project marketing managers to identify key influencer verticals + product messages that will drive business goals
  • Communicate influencer marketing strategy and plan to various XFN partners to ensure cohesion + alignment with GTM plans
  • Day to day management of influencer agency - overseeing timelines, coordination of influencer partners, and managing the content approval process with cross-functional partners.
  • Partner closely with the organic + paid social media team on their social calendar to identify the most impactful usage and timing of influencer content.
  • Pull together weekly, monthly and as-needed campaign reporting to measure performance and overall impact to marketing goals.
  • Coordinate internal communication to cross-functional partners and departments on active campaigns and post-campaign performance metrics and learnings.
  • Manage all details of the influencer marketing budget including agency POs and invoices, influencer costs, quarterly finance reporting, and the brand team tracker.
  • Assist in cultural and entertainment marketing initiatives including but not limited to integrations, brand and celebrity partnerships, activations, and brand campaigns to market plans.


What it takes to catch our eye:

  • 3-4 years of proven experience in influencer + brand marketing including contributing to strategies and campaign briefs with an ability to translate a strategy into actionable and measurable marketing tactics.
  • Understanding of social media platforms as they pertain to creators, influencers, and trends as it relates to B2B and/or B2C marketing.
  • Proficient at project management with prioritizing multiple projects at once while paying close attention to timelines, details, and budget.
  • Thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment managing and fostering relationships with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional business partners.
  • A champion in bringing new ideas to the team in market and cultural trends, growth and emerging opportunities, and finding new insights to strengthen campaigns.


The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington ranges from $92,000 - $150,000. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
