Head of Product Marketing

As Thought Industries ​Head of Product Marketing​, you will work with sales / marketing, product, and customer experience peers to develop new pipeline, improve sales performance, and increase customer engagement and product adoption. As the owner of our Customer Education market segment, you will be responsible for developing differentiated GTM strategy, articulating competitive differentiators, leading our visionary product GTM efforts, and providing up-to-date sales enablement materials for our customer-facing teams.
This position mashes up creative, sales, and analytical skills, and requires an agile thinker who can blend customer intelligence, storytelling, data manipulation, and technology to translate the value of our product to new and existing customers.
In this role, you’ll be successful if you can:
Own the Go-to-Market strategy for the Customer Education market segment and related use cases; work with marketing, sales, customer experience, and product peers to identify and exceed business goals on a consistent basis.
Market Strategy:

  • Conduct market and customer research to gather data and insights about target personas, buyer needs, competitive differentiators, and the purchasing decision process for Customer Education, including key buyer roles.

GTM Messaging & Positioning:

  • Own the creation and articulation of our strategic GTM plans across theteam.
  • Develop consistent messaging and positioning and ensure marketing and customer-facing teams are aligned on the latest market trends.
  • Become the expert in the competitive landscape, and ensure battlecards, product collateral, and other field enablement materials reflect current market conditions.

Product GTM

  • Own our strategic product GTM efforts. Ensure competitive differentiators and value-based messaging is created and communicated across marketing, sales, and customer experience teams.
  • Influence the product roadmap with well-defined market requirements.

Field Enablement

  • Work with the Field Ops team to develop field enablement and training materials that resonate with the buying audience and communicate the value of the Thought Industries solution.
  • Assist Customer Marketing in the creation of customer references and testimonials for external and internal use.

Thought Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Learning Solutions team to create industry leading thought leadership content and event programming.
  • Articulate the value of the Thought Industries platform via quantitative customer case studies, product videos, and website copy.
  • Provide expert guidance for marketing emails, content marketing, and customer communications.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Develop a scalable, repeatable process for RFP responses, provide input into value-based messaging, and assist the Sales team in improving RFP success rates.
  • Assist the Product team in launching and communicating product updates and improvements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field desired.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a B2B SaaS-focused product marketing role.
  • Experience owning and strategic GTM planning and execution in a fast-growing tech environment
  • Experience working with a direct sales team, as well as with product management and customer success teams.
  • Deep understanding of software, manufacturing, or telecom industries
  • Self-starter eager to own projects and take the initiative where there’s room for improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate the value of a product to solving business challenges. We want to communicate “why” more than “what.”
  • Strong left brain / right brain execution that combines creativity with analytical rigor.
  • Excellent written and in-person communication skills. Our team works 100% remotely and it's important that we're able to understand each other through text and spoken word.
  • Eagerness to collaborate, learn, and contribute. You’re equally comfortable writing content for a sales sheet and landing page as you are defining and managing the various components of a product launch.
  • Previous experience with Customer Education and/or online learning software is preferred
  • Comfortable working closely with leadership teams at a cross-departmental level
  • Passionate, motivated and hungry to succeed
