Hi there!
We are Semrush, a global IT company developing our own product - a platform for digital marketers. And we're looking for experienced SEOs to help us make sure our blog posts are truly accurate and valuable. Please apply if you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for high-quality SEO content!
Tasks in the role

  • Review drafts of blog posts for accuracy and coherence, acting as an SEO subject matter expert
  • Ensure the structure of blog posts is comprehensive and flows logically
  • Advise writers on the best ways to approach SEO topics
  • Provide feedback to writers to improve their articles

Who we are looking for

  • Extensive hands-on SEO experience
  • Experience using Semrush tools or our competitors' tools
  • Strong understanding of the digital marketing industry and recent SEO developments
  • High attention to detail
  • Respect for deadlines

They say there are no perfect candidates, but that might well be you, if

  • You stay up to date with the latest SEO trends
  • You have experience creating high-quality blog content
  • You can write in American English with native-level proficiency
  • You share our common values: Trust, because we prefer to speak up and be our true selves; Sense of Ownership, because it's not worth wasting time on something you don't believe in; and enthusiasm for Constant Changes, because we are always looking to make things better

A bit about the team
You'll work with the Organic Search Team, which means you are going to collaborate with people who care A LOT about publishing excellent content. We aspire to make the Semrush blog the best place in the world to learn about SEO and digital marketing. We're on a mission to improve the quality of our blog content dramatically. You would play an important role in making sure all our articles are accurate and helpful
Compensation
Compensation is on a per-article basis.
Articles will be broken down into three classes based on topic and overall difficulty.

  • Class A article: $0.18/word (USD)-a very technical, complex topic
  • Class B article: $0.11/word (USD)-relatively simple overall, but with some technical or advanced details (most of our articles are Class B)
  • Class C article: $0.06/word (USD)-a simple, easy-to-check topic

For reference, here are some examples:

  • Class A article: https://www.semrush.com/blog/google-lighthouse/
  • Class B article: https://www.semrush.com/blog/alt-text/
  • Class C article: https://www.semrush.com/blog/keyword-research-tools/

These rates are based on article length. So reviewing a "Class B" article of 3,000 words would pay $300.
