PlacePass is looking for an exceptional Email Marketing Manager to join our fast-growing travel growth marketing team who is eager to set a vision, grow our email programs, and help evolve and shape our core product from a very early stage. With support from our design team, you’ll have the opportunity to drive our email strategy from ideation to implementation as well as work with the marketing and product teams on an aggressive test-and-learn agenda to redefine our core value proposition in the direct-to-consumer space. In this role, you will:

  • Lead the strategy and execution of our email marketing program - owning the flow from lead capture through conversion and on-going lifecycles / content
  • Set the on-going plan for email to hit core company KPIs and booking goals each quarter
  • Help to significantly evolve our core product and value-prop through a variety of aggressive test-and-learn campaigns involving everything from research to testing on the live product
  • Work with the broader marketing team on initiatives to generate and capture qualified leads from incoming traffic and understand the quality of these leads
  • Establish an on-going test-and-learn schedule to consistently evolve and improve performance of our email programs
  • Collaborate with our internal design team on creative for emails, producing regular briefs and project managing them to ensure key deliverables are received on time
  • Work with our marketing analyst to create weekly performance reports to stakeholders on performance, conversion, and other ad-hoc deep dives
  • Maintain an email content calendar to easily communicate to the team and leadership as to when and how we’re engaging with our customers
  • Collaborate with our product and engineering teams on projects such as dynamic integrations with the site and product catalog and transaction emails
  • Analyze results of A/B tests, report out insights and take action on them
  • This role reports to the Director of Customer Acquisition and works within the PlacePass.com marketing team (currently a three-person team)

A perfect candidate:

  • Has a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or other related discipline 
  • Has 2-4 years of relevant experience dealing with email creatives and campaigns
  • Ideally has worked in a start-up environment before and can demonstrate significant abilities to wear multiple hats and execute across teams and functions
  • Understands key best practices for email channel management including segmentation, triggering, lifecycles, content management and creative development 
  • Is well-versed with tracking and acting on core email KPIs (open rates, deliverability, conversion rates, engagement, file health etc)
  • Has a functional understanding of HTML and CSS as it applies to email; ability to code and build emails from scratch is ideal but at a minimum should be able to identify coding issues that may cause rendering problems in emails
  • Is a strategic thinker who leans on data to inform decision-making and is comfortable with testing and learning simultaneously
  • Has prior experience with Klaviyo (or similar ESP)
  • Is eager to build skills in HTML, SQL, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Excel, Google Sheets
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills and is adept at occasionally copywriting within a specified tone-of-voice
