Headway’s mission is a big one – to build a new mental health care system everyone can access. We’ve built technology that helps people find great therapists with the first software-enabled national network of providers accepting insurance.

1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but the majority of providers don’t accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway is building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access by making it easy for therapists to accept insurance and scale their practice.

Headway was founded in 2019. Since then, we’ve grown into a diverse, national network of over 45,000 mental healthcare providers across all 50 states who run their practice on our software and have served over 1 million patients. We’re a Series D company with over $325m in funding from a16z (Andreessen Horowitz), Accel, GV (formerly Google Ventures), Spark Capital, Thrive Capital, Forerunner Ventures and Health Care Service Corporation.

We want your time here to be the most meaningful experience of your career. Join us, and help change mental healthcare for the better.

As Headway’s Marketing Operations Lead (Campaign Operations), you’ll be responsible for owning and optimizing high quality marketing processes that help us acquire and convert tens of thousands of therapists as we build a new mental healthcare system.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and execution-focused Marketing Operations professional to scale our marketing programs and ensure campaigns are executed flawlessly. This role is responsible for operationalizing marketing campaigns from planning to launch, building automation frameworks, and ensuring systems and processes are optimized for scale. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Creative, and RevOps to drive efficient go-to-market execution and enable a seamless experience for both internal stakeholders and prospective providers.

You will:

  • Execute Scalable Campaigns: Lead the end-to-end execution of marketing programs, ensuring timely delivery and flawless execution across channels
  • Enforce Tracking & Governance: Ensure proper UTM tracking and enforce Salesforce campaign governance for consistent reporting and attribution
  • Establish QA Processes: Develop and enforce robust quality assurance standards to ensure operational excellence and campaign accuracy
  • Build & Optimize Nurture Programs: Design complex, automated email nurture flows and continuously iterate to improve conversion performance
  • Manage Event Technical Operations: Own the technical setup and execution of both online and in-person marketing events, ensuring seamless experiences
  • Oversee List Management: Create and manage compliant, efficient list import processes to support targeted campaign execution
  • Training: Develop training materials and documentation to empower marketers with self-serve campaign capabilities
  • Optimize Ticketing Workflow: Manage and improve the Marketing Ops ticketing system (e.g., JIRA) to streamline requests and accelerate campaign launch cycles
  • Evaluate Campaign Performance: Monitor and report on campaigns performance and impact

You’d be a great fit if:

  • You have 3-5+ years of Marketing Operations experience
  • You are a subject matter expert for operational excellence, and have expertise in Marketo and Salesforce
  • You have experience with various event tooling (ex., Zoom, Splash, LiveEvent, ON24, iCapture, etc) and landing page systems (ex., Unbounce)
  • You are detail-oriented and enjoy managing complex end-to-end processes, and enjoy building operationally efficient processes from scratch
  • You thrive in the unknown and seek out opportunities to dive into unfamiliar challenges, roll up your sleeves, learn new skills, and drive towards solutions
  • You are motivated by the opportunity to make an impact on one of our generation’s defining problems, accessible mental healthcare
  • You like to dig into data for storytelling, justifying investment and prioritization of initiatives
  • Bonus points if:
    • You have experience in high growth technology environments with a large amount of autonomy, ideally building 0-1
    • You are Marketo Certified

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected base pay range for this position is $97,240 - $143,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for performance-based variable compensation and an equity grant, depending on the position and level.

We are committed to offering a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package, including robust health and wellness benefits, retirement savings, and meaningful ownership opportunities through equity. Compensation decisions are made holistically, ensuring fairness and alignment with market benchmarks while recognizing individual contributions and potential.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
